imlegos Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I saw this ride crash aswell, it must be RCT2's weight calculations doing it
jensj12 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Do you have an autosave from just before the crash? I thought I fixed it but the cause seems to be something else (and I can't stand not being able to solve crashes).
Broxzier Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 It's indeed very likely that the mass calculations are responsible for this crash being rare. I assume one of the cars didn't make the hill, going backwards, while a second car was coming in.
WobblyRails Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Hello I Thunk I Have But I Will Check First @jensj12 @Broxzier I Tnink The Crash Is Because The Car is Overpowered then the car enters the tight curve and because of the mass calculation the car just ran out of the rails and causing the crash
jensj12 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) I've found the cause, save attached. It's caused by a safety cut-out, multiple trains get stuck on the chain lift and if the one in front has less guests riding it than the cart behind it, they will hit each other there causing them to lose a lot of speed, and eventually a crash. Change it to wait for full (without a max wait time) to fix the issue. The true cause is the long path from the station to the lift hill. Broxzier Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Looking good. Just one thing, there are a few souvenir stalls with red hoods already If the next person could change the colour to get some more diversity that would be great.
Racey Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 This seems like a fun project. Can I participate? ^^
jensj12 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 There you are. Queue is getting quite long now. Claimed: --Next In Line: @xbalogan, qbbq, imlegos , UTMAN, jensj12, Wuis, Philmon, Squab, przemek, Broxzier, WobblyRails, RaceyMissed Turn: Enner
Wuis Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 @jensj12 Also noticed so, kinda regret only building the kiddie coaster when I had my turn.
Squab Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 @WobblyRails Great work! Well-themed and realistic.
imlegos Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I just thought of something, i wonder how many people actually realize what 'Original Round Car Trip 2' actually means... (Original Round Car Trip 2 = ORCT2 = Open Roller Coaster Tycoon 2)
qbbq Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) @jensj12 I've been queueing for Group Park 2 for ages! Edited February 8, 2016 by qbbq
Philmon11 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I thought the reference was to the original group park...

qbbq Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) Breaking news: Two trains collided creating a massive fireball aboard Typhoon, the recently built mini hyper coaster, killing 4 people. In other news, NITRO, a massive hyper coaster, was constructed along the yet-to-be-named river boardwalk. It seems to be a crowd favourite but yet many others cannot find the new ride. Wuis Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 @qbbq I really like you squished that size coaster in such a tiny area. Only thing I could see the coaster improved on, is it having custom supports. Also, when you open the file, this: will happen. So to the next person who is going to continue with the park; fix "The Villain" or close it immediately.
jensj12 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) Both crashes are caused by a safety cut-out. I can fix both if you allow me to (just close them for now). Typhoon because of the chainlift at the end and The Villain (and The Hero too) by the flat section between the chainlifts (longer min. wait time or min. passenger load can help too). (edit: after some testing I found that there had to be two consecutive breakdowns on the villain as with only one the trains won't hit each other). Coaster safety guideline: Only use a chainlift directly out of the station or crashes will happen over time, or use a proper block system. Edited February 10, 2016 by jensj12

Is there a guide you can point me to for proper blocking? I understand blocks but can't seem to build a coaster without brief stops on the chainlift because the timing of the last block segment.

That's just timing the min and max. time a train leaves the station and the chain speed of the lifthill. A coaster where it doesn't stop at any block brakes is more difficult, and I doubt I can explain that.
imlegos Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Normally i have the chainlift after some drops, but i never try and do a uphill section after. I am NOT claiming yet, i shall claim it when i get home (which will be later today).
