As the previous group park is very close to being finished, and the project is slowly dying, we can start the next group park already. How does this work? Multiple players extend and improve a park by taking turns. We start out with an empty map where all land is owned. A queue of players is kept up to date. Once a person reaches the front of the queue, they have 24 hours to claim the park. Once claimed they have 48 hours to work on it. They can then works on the park, and when finished they will post the new saved game with a short update log, and optionally add themselves to the end of the queue. When someone does not claim their turn in time, or went over the 48-hour limit after claiming it, they will be moved to a missed turn list. Anyone from this list is allowed to claim the park when it's not claimed already, and can add themselves in the front of the current queue. This missed turn list is not a queue, which means that everyone in there has the same priority. First come first serve. To join, simply leave a comment saying you want to join and wait for someone to add you to the end of the queue, or add yourself to the queue. Rules / Guidelines: Cover a maximum area of 30x30 land tiles in one turn. You are allowed to shape this to your likes. An area of 15x60 for example is perfectly fine. Change the land texture of the tiles you are building on from wireframe to something else. Anyone is allowed to make minor changes to other people's content, while keeping the overall theme the same. This include, but are not limited to: Changing the height of the ground Improve scenery and footpaths Placing footpath additions Solving issues where guests get stuck Moving rides Moving or placing new shops and stalls Do not make major changes to other people's content without their approval. This includes, but is not limited to: Removing or replacing rides Removing or replacing detailed scenery (anything that has more than just empty walls and roofs) Changing the height of the land drastically Keep an eye on the news - solve any problems to keep the park rating high. Post at least one screenshot, the new saved game with increased version number, and the updated queue. Tag the next person in line. Do not block any main paths directly, there should be an easy way to continue building a path for the people after you. Ideally continue any paths in the area so that people can easily extend it.

I built one new ride, it's a Wooden Wild Mine Ride called Ruins Racer. Its stats are: Excitement: 5.73 (might still go up, because I tested it without scenery) Intensity: 8.51 Nausea: 4.66 Other than this new ride I made the following changes: Build 3 new paths at places where people got stuck (Park rating went up to ~600 pretty fast once they reached the exit) Moved a drink stall from near the lake to the new entrance Placed a lot of benches and bins, mostly in the new area of the park Build a path under the G-flower patch near Giraffe with a handymen, so that the flowers will always be watered Improved some empty places with scenery, mostly near where I built this new ride Used a cheat to get rid of all litter; as a result the park rating went up to 999, but has slowly dropped since again Changed the park name name to OpenRCT2.org Group Park 2, for some reason it had become Comunit Claimed: -Next In Line: @jensj12, Philmon, BroxzierMissed Turn: Enner, , UTMAN, Wuis, Squab, Przemek, WobblyRails, Racey, qbbq, Wuis, imlegos Download: Community Park V2.89.sv6

Thanks, I'm almost finished with the things I wanted to do

Whoops, I'm sorry guys >.< The past days were VERY busy for me. So far I haven't done much either. I can try and finish what I worked on now so that the next person can continue from there if you want. Sorry for the hold up!

Welcome to the forums, SJB. The first thing I thought of when I read the title was Social Justice Warriors

Claiming it! I feel like this project is dying, and that it's time to make a new park. I'll make a new thread about it later, probably tomorrow. Claimed: BroxzierNext In Line: @jensj12, PhilMissed Turn: Enner, , UTMAN, Wuis, Squab, Przemek, WobblyRails, Racey, qbbq, Wuis, imlegos

If you're going for realism, then both of them seem to go way too high. All wooden mouse/mine cars I have seen often don't go over 10m above the ground. The track itself look good on both rides, that's for certain. My vote goes to 2, because it has more little hills, however I do like the colours and the fact it doesn't grind over the floor as much of the first one. Both of them are not using any scenery, which is a major thing in my eyes. Even having something really simple would definitely have changed my opinion on it.

Welcome Eolson. Best way to get started is playing one of the beginner scenarios. Build some simple small rides, try to make enough money and expand your park slowly. Keep checking the thoughs of your guests so you know how to improve the parks. You'll get the hang of it soon enough.

Glad to see you've found the option already.

Object Load file failed. Potentially currupt file.
Broxzier replied to Manoman's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
Enable verbose logging, and you might get some more information about which file it is. This will save you some time trying to do it by hand. -
That's true, and that's basically the reason why the .net and .org forums have merged, however it's still not the official website. This might change later on, there's been some discussions about it.

What is the actual error you're getting? What build are you using?
-
If you really want steep hills, you can build a steep track without a chainlift, and use a trainer to make it a lift.

These forums aren't part of openrct2 at all, it's more of a fansite. If we would make such a login system, it would most likely be part of openrct2.website instead, as this is also the master server. If there would be a system, it could probably be linked with this website's and other account, such as Github and Facebook, but that's a different story.

I don't expect new members to read a sticky post before submitting their ideas, which in most cases are duplicates, which means they didn't take the time to check if their suggestion has already been made. I'm the most active developer on here, and don't mind letting them know about the limits when they suggest something. It's only the "remove limit please" threads that are a bit annoying.

There's already some support for touch implemented, like zooming with pinch controls, like ray noted. I've seen some plans for adding touch support. Not just because of tablet and phone, but also because more and more laptops support touch. https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/2091

I haven't seen Utman in a while, but I guess we can start without him? I suggest we start out with a flat park, and plan out some things before building anything rides at all. Perhaps we could do some paths already, at least one to the center of the park for example. Players: Broxzier, Dan, @jensj12 (confirm please), qbbq, Squab, UTMAN, WobblyRails, xbalogan, ziscor Cooldown (5): - I'll make a very simple map now, but feel free to discuss everything about it, even the placement of the entrance. Park: Rapid Group Park 1.0.sv6 Edit: Maybe we could make a sketch of the map first?

Installing using RCT2 Steam Files?
Broxzier replied to PaperPlayerX's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
You'll just have to install the game from steam first, then run it once, and you cna use OpenRCT2 from then. If you want to run just OpenRCT2, and want to remove the unused files from your hard drive, you could copy the files you need to the OpenRCT2 folder that are listed here: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Required-RCT2-files And then uninstall RCT2 game from Steam. -
Finished with my turn. Things I did: The two remaining pieces of the suspense swinger track are now invisible. New park entrance and guest entry point, feel free to decorate these more. Extended the river to get it from a source off-map. Now the river flow is at least complete. Also here, feel free to change it. Removed litter and fixed vandalism - park rating went straight up to 999 again. Connected some area's with 2-wide paths, didn't test them out properly, but I do not expect many people getting stuck there. Places some benches and bins all over the park. New park entrance: I didn't not merge any tracks, and did not build any new rides or stalls either. There is space for two more rides in the list at the moment. openrct2 is compatible with windows xp?
Broxzier replied to Rekt's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
This link from the reddit post by janisozaur seems to be working fine: https://transfer.sh/N8cwk/openrct2-c60e05f.dll -
Note that by doing this, you essentially modify the game's assets. Make sure to keep a backup before doing so, or you'll have to reinstall the game to get them back.
