Welcome cparkes! I hope you enjoy the forums. I agree with jensj, RCT1 had better gameplay, but RCT2 is a better sandbox tool.

Unable to find RCT2 installation directory

The path that you enter should include the RollerCoaster Tyoon 2 folder, not just the folder in which this folder exists. This is usually directly under Program Files (x86). -
If there are any workaround, that means you know how to dodge a certain thing from happening, which causes a desync. It's best if you let us know, instead of avoid using these features.

Looking good. Just one thing, there are a few souvenir stalls with red hoods already If the next person could change the colour to get some more diversity that would be great.

It's indeed very likely that the mass calculations are responsible for this crash being rare. I assume one of the cars didn't make the hill, going backwards, while a second car was coming in.

This looks really nice!

Perhaps handy to know is that you can build walls and fences underwater, I think that will fit with that wooden building. Lower the water first, build the walls, then disable clearance checks and increase the water level again.

You can already add passwords to your server, people will have to enter these before any park information is sent to them.

There was a new video last week, about building tracks, how it works with the terrain, about scenery duplication, and a network to share things you've made.

The verbose option from the launcher never worked for me, so here's a way that does work without using the launcher at all. Open a command prompt window (Start menu, type cmd, press enter) Browse to the openrct2 folder using cd, for example: cd Documents\OpenRCT2 Then run the following command: bin\openrct2.exe --verbose > log.txt 2>&1 This will print all the output to a file called log.txt in the OpenRCT2 folder. Attach this file or paste its content here so we can see where it stops working.

You can build almost anywhere by disabling clearance checks from the cheat menu.

Whoops, just noticed it's 1000 posts in the Parks section, not just this thread

1000st post in this topic! I worked around the waterfall area, making a touristic attraction for people to get nearby while riding over a track. This ride has extremely low ratings, everything around 0.1. And there is a topspin called Cliffhanger. I also placed some buildings made with scenery around the park. I didn't need to do anything to keep the rating 999, so good job everyone! Can you try getting a proper view at the error message? You can do it by launching openrct2.exe from command prompt, or using the launcher to save it to a text file, if that works for you. Also try it with --verbose, which should give more information.

Nice coaster, and good to see you left some paths there to go alongside the next area where the water comes from. I'm claiming the park now.
-
In the console window I could see part of an error, saying something about css18.DAT: Did you start vanilla RCT2 before opening OpenRCT2 at least once?

Welcome Michel, many if not most of us are Dutch What's the colour of your toothbrush?

Rides getting bugged / turned into other rides.

Then it's most likely to do with invalid ride types being received. I guess the rides looked right before you reconnected. Were you still in sync while building them? Did you use any of the debugging tools while connected? (object selection for example) -

"Out of nowhere" is hard to debug. Were you playing over a network? Also can you upload the park? -
I did that because you used up your time already, and didn't want others to wait even more. It's not an issue it went differently, so let's just continue.

Ah, forgot to check the time. It had been 24 hours since Phil's turn was over and tagged you, but you hadn't claimed it yet, so I thought Philmon took his turn again because of that. Now I see he took it already 12 hours in while it was yours to claim, but I guess we can continue like this then.

Hi Michael, welcome to the forums. If you have any ideas for the project, make sure to let us know!

Hello, welcome to the forums Benj.

Feel free to take your turn later again after Squab. I'll move you to the missed turn list, even though you used the 48 hours. Make sure to turn on auto-save next time. Claimed: -Next In Line: @Squab, Broxzier, WobblyRails Xbalogan, qbbq, imlegos , UTMAN, jensj12, WuisMissed Turn: Philmon, Enner
