A few more: Support for any number of custom songs Embedding music (or a reference rather) into the saved game Ability to use and load a new type of custom object: surface and ground textures Support complex map shapes (instead of just removing the limit, in which case you still have square maps) Other limits: staff count, sprite count, map element count, ride/shops count Preview image - basically a screenshot at the time the save was created

Arde's guide to making randomly generated scenarios.
Broxzier replied to Ardebitis's topic in Guides, Tips and Tricks
I like how you approach randomly generating scenarios by hand. I haven't tried it out myself, but while reading the points it feels a bit unbalanced at the moment. No cleared land only gives +1 while having starting food/drink/restrooms: gives +3 each, while in my opinion a rough landscape is much more challenging to play with, and restrooms and stalls can be built within a few minutes. It's hard to get right of course, it will involve a lot of trial and error before it's working well. random.org seems a lot more user friendly than hotbits. I don't see how hotbits would be better than random.org for step 9 either, because it doesn't have a way to generate a single number within a given range. -

@BlazingEmpireHD You know about the giant screenshot feature I hope? It will make the positioning of the map within the image consistent, and get rid of the toolbars. You can also press t before making a screenshot to hide the toolbars if you want.

Server window not showing up when starting a server
Broxzier replied to Taylo's topic in Multiplayer Discussion
Run the game with openrct2.exe --console and check the output. It might be that port forwarding it not working properly, and in that case a warning will be printed. -
Cannot star rct2 off steam- needs "DirectPlay"
Broxzier replied to -xrf-'s topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
It should ask you if you want to install DirectPlay when you launch it for the first time. Try running it as administrator once. -
That just means you'll have to replace \ with / in your path.

Version 0.0.0.5 doesn't say much, that could be anything from a month to a year old. From the screenshot it looks like you're using an outdated version, so try downloading a new one, or even better, use the launcher to stay up to date.

There are probably invisible track elements there. You can use the tile inspector to see what's there.

Fixed these two issues, fixed vandalism, then the park rating went up again: The path on the left should be removed, but it seems to be a new pathfinding issue. Maybe something @zaxcav can look into using the previous saved game. What I mostly worked on this turn is scenery. I did not build any rides or stalls, but I did build a few buildings (after destroying part of @jensj12 station building). How to make the cart go on the wrong track.
Broxzier replied to Hoodiebud's topic in General Discussion
Here's an explanation to help you understand how and why it works. Vehicles check what track piece they currently are on. Each track piece has a start position, direction and slope, and an end position, rotation and slope. Take a straight piece for example, its start and end are on the same position with the same slope and same rotation. With a single tile turn however the rotation will be different, but the position and slope will be the same. The game uses these definitions to search for the next track pieces the vehicle will be on, and continues to do so for the entire track. The start position, slope and rotation of the next piece must match the end of the previous piece. Now here is where the magic comes. With this information the game looks in the map whether the next piece is there. If it is, the game assumes that everything is fine, and so it continues. Now if there would be two or more starts of a track piece on that same position (same height) it simply takes the first it can find. -
This change would require all rides to include new sprites, including custom rides.

Hello there! It's always good to see new faces. That red coaster looks insane, it's like a bowl of spaghetti.

Can't finish scenario - no putting in name button
Broxzier replied to Netsrek's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
@Netsrek If you could provide us a save or reliable steps to reproduce this issue, that would be of great help fixing this issue. -
These were the ones I couldn't find, well hidden Wuis

@Jochem When you move yourself from the missed turn list to the queue, you can put yourself first, and since nobody has claimed it at the moment you can also immediately claim it.
