From memory, two reasons: The track needs to be send to the server so that it can be built there. The preview in the track window generates a new map, and a new track, which causes desyncs and possibly crashes. Say someone were to build a new ride while you have the preview window open, then both the new ride and the ride in the preview window will have the same ride ID. I might be completely wrong here, I've never touched these parts in the code myself. I'm only repeating what I've heard.

Welcome new veteran! In case you're interested in building parks with the community, there is a group park going on that everyone join. @imlegos Can confirm that you don't have to do that anymore. The objects are now initialized correctly by OpenrCT2.

It's updated for every change that changes the behaviour of the game, which is not network specific. For example, there was a commit a few days ago that changes when paths get connected when build. If the version number wouldn't be updated, then that would result in different results for the client and server, even though their network version would be the same.

There is a cheat that resets the crash status, but that won't help you keep the ride open when it crashes again.

In a command prompt window type ipconfig, and look for your ipv4 address, then let your brother enter that IP.

There are plans for adding custom campaigns, but so far no work for this has been done.

I think it is a console command, and not visible in the menu.

The first one should work just fine. If you know the steps to reproduce this issue we can take a look at it. The second issue is simply because you kept on playing after a desync has occurred. When a desync happens, the client should reconnect.

I too use two different resolutions, and put them the same way you did It allows for moving the mouse cursor to the top-right corner to close an application quickly, without overshooting to the other monitor.

"Deselect unused" would probably be better, since the object selection is being used more in-game than in the editor nowadays.

It sounds like you're getting that error when you set the name, but that is odd. When do you see that error exactly?
