Welcome Jake! Happy to hear you're enjoying this timeless game once again
-
This has been suggested before, and won't be implemented for various reasons. One being that it'll mess with the design of the game, especially for big actions, and also because it's quite complex. Creating a history of actions is no difficult, but some actions have side-effects that you need to take into account. For example, what should happen if you place a ride through scenery, the scenery gets removed, and then you want to undo the building? You'll need to store all the scenery that got removed somewhere. And that's just one of the many things it can change.

Issue with Object Selector/Scenery Items

Please file an issue about it on GitHub with a saved game where it's missing, so we can expect it. -
Issue with Object Selector/Scenery Items
Broxzier replied to Mynock's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
This was changed shortly after this was merged already. This behaviour was very confusing as it required players to know when the objects were released. Now RCT2 should show all objects from the RCT2 game. RCT1, LL and AA will come later. These filters should not show any objects at the moment. -
@giraty Exactly what Utman says, now you're just holding up the rest.

A new coaster has been built, called The Crossing (because it crosses the paths; super lame, I know): I also did some tweaks around this area, like dirt underneath the paths (I'm very disappointed in you @UTMAN), a new handyman and some foliage to make the change in scenery not too abrupt. Raising item issue + naming inconsistency?
Broxzier replied to etownbreaker's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
The virtual floor does obscure your vision though. It has been discussed, even the original creator agrees. It'll be made more transparent at some point, not sure when though because the original developer is quite inactive. -
Dinghy crashing, potential problem?

Which I've always found silly. The peeps would just get launched into the ceiling. -
Game Taking Four minutes to load
Broxzier replied to joshmarsilio's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
If you mean the original + openrct2 object locations (program files, app data, and documents) then that's fine, otherwise you may want to get rid of some. -
I'm sorry Giraty, but I really don't like this addition. The park is quite big, so there's absolutely no need to build right next to the map's edges. Since the coaster makes a lot of noise it'll also be nicer to move it further from the park entrance. I'd like to see it moved to another location in the park instead. The track and the wooden buildings are nice though. I'm aware of the handymen getting off the paths issue, but since the new peep branch will be merged into the game today, that issue should be resolved in a few hours, so there's no need to change it.

Yes, we're aware of this. The problem doesn't really lay with the animations, but with the invalidation of the screen areas where animations are. As you mentioned, the animations will work if something else nearby is moving. The engine tries to draw the least amount every time by re-using the screen buffer. Map animations are there to let the game know that a certain area does need to be redrawn, even if nothing else really changes around it. The SV6 format only allows for so many map animations, so when you reach this limit it may appear clunky. This is not something we can fix before moving to our own save format.

The part between the entrance area and the high-tech area has gotten a new building that the monorails go though. The monorails in question have been renamed to Clockwise Expedition and Counter-Clockwise Expedition, since they are going in different directions. And then I worked some on the entrance area to make it seem more inviting to the guests: Be careful when working around the entrance, I've done some voodoo magic there so guests can find their way to the exit when they want to. The voodoo magic is really just a secondary path element on the same height but with different connections. I've replaced the creepy theme with the pagode theme, but kept the most generic scenery items from them. Fixes: Removed supports under the queues to the two launched freefalls, because the karts were racing through them Disabled the waiting time for the Go-Karts, because they were waiting for a very long time Removed a scenery piece that glitches through the river rapids stairs Claimed: - Queue: Wuis , giraty, Utman, RedScope53, Deurklink, Broxzier Missed: - @Wuis you're up! @giraty Do you mind if I change the entrance area somewhat? I think a single-tile-wide path is too small for the main road, but making it bigger requires some big changes there.

That trackitecture deposit area is a nice idea. I'm claiming the park now! Claimed: Broxzier Queue: Wuis , giraty, Utman, RedScope53, Deurklink Missed: -

I agree with Deurklink, the Asia theme from Wacky Worlds doesn't really fit with the rest of the game too well. Not just the animations, but the colours and lighting is different as well. I'm fine with some objects being used, as long as it is not a major part of something, which is the case here. On top of that, for players without the expansion packs the new areas look rather empty. @RedScope53 The idea is that we use have differently themed parts in the park, much like real theme parks, instead of just one theme for the entire park. Edit: Also putting myself back in the queue Claim: Deurklink? Queue: Broxzier, Wuis , giraty, Utman, RedScope53 Missed: -

I'll be gone until tuesday, so if it's my turn before then, put me in the missed turn list.
-
Me too. I'm also down for an asian-themed area.
-
Yeah now there's scenery on it it does look bigger than I expected, but I think i'll do. To make the park appear a bit smaller, we could place large rides near the edges, and start building from the middle. Here's the shuffled player list: Queue: giraty, UTMAN, RedScope53, Broxzier, Deurklink, Wuis (invisible missed turn list): jensj12, saxman1089 And the park: The OpenRCT2 Group Park 8.00.sv6 @giraty Show us what you've got!

Updated version: If there are no further comments by the end of the day (~8 hours from now) I'll turn this into a scenario.
-
I'll make the top of the mountains a bit flatter, and will remove that lake. It'll probably only get in the way
-

@Deurklink yeah, but most scenery groups can be used for many different themes. I was more curious to what kind of themed areas you would like to see in the park. For example an area for children with colourful objects, or an area with jungle and lots of wooden houses for example. @jensj12 Sure thing!
-
Players so far: Broxzier, giraty, Deurklink, Wuis, RedScope53, UTMAN What themes do you have in mind?
-
I'm in favour of this. We could make 3 or 4 areas with different themes if 1 is not enough.
