OpenGL Lighting not the same as in video
jensj12 replied to UnknownKid's topic in Guides, Tips and Tricks
You've only changed the drawing engine. To get lights and shadows, you need to enable day/night cycling and light effects in the second tab as well. Still those aren't the same (and require hardware rendering rather than OpenGL). The footage shown in the video never made it into the official codebase. -
Can not build new custom track pieces
jensj12 replied to ROLLIE94's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
The new track pieces are currently only in the develop version of OpenRCT2. They will be included in the 0.4.2 release version of the game (but you can switch to the develop branch). -
It might be worth stating your OS (I assume windows otherwise) and taking a screenshot or two of what you did and and what the selected RCT Deluxe folder looks like. I don't really have any ideas left of what could be causing your issues.
-
How did you get RCT Deluxe? If from CD, make sure you have a full install rather than a minimal install.
-
Your missing an object with the name bubgum1. It should even tell you what kind of object it is. If it's a custom object, try the download button at the bottom of the window. If that doesn't help, you'll need to find the object somewhere yourself. In case it's an official RCT2 object, reinstalling OpenRCT2 should do the trick.

You need to put them in the track folder of OpenRCT2.

Possibility of adding more cores/threads to the multithreading
jensj12 replied to TheKillerChicken's topic in Ideas
IIRC, the game doesn't benefit much from more multi-threading. The drawing on already done on multiple threads and the game logic is single-threaded. Any improvements must then be made by splitting the game logic over multiple cores, which is a difficult task and I'm not sure if the increased overhead is worth the hassle. -
RCT Deluxe is RCT1, and OpenRCT2 requires RCT2 files to run. In the options menu of OpenRCT2 you can select your RCT1 (Deluxe) folder to add a few extras to OpenRCT2 (it may even have done that automatically). If you've done that, you should see the RCT1 scenario's in the new game window. OpenRCT2 aims to fully support RCT1 within the RCT2 engine, but not everything is exactly the same. You can even change the menu colors to the RCT1 theme (or anything custom if you'd like).

Was there supposed to be an image attached to your post? You referenced one, but I don't see any images.

Guests will complain they're lost if they can't find the ride within a certain time. For large parks, the time it takes to reach to reach a ride on the other side of the park is always longer than their time limit. Guests also don't care about the distance when picking a ride, which means they will spend more time walking in larger parks, simply because they choose to do so. There is only one case where guests care about the distance to a ride's entrance, and that is when it has chosen to go on a ride with multiple entrances.

As you can see in your screenshots, the tilting and banking don't exactly match. It would therefore require a new, shortened corkscrew piece to exist alongside the current corkscrews (deforming the current corkscrew piece would look weird for full corkscrews). There are other new track pieces that are currently being worked on, so maybe once those are complete...

Not that I know of. It has been requested: #15343

You can select them all (as long as you don't have tooo many objects), it just takes some time. For faster selection, enable 'non-selected only' in the filters.

Did it happen after updating OpenRCT2? If so, you like have a mixed install (with files that were meant for an older version of OpenRCT2). Please uninstall OpenRCT2 (don't delete your documents folder!) and install it again.
-
It's in the maintenance tab of a ride and looks like the build button. If that doesn't help, please include a screenshot of where you get stuck and make sure you're on version v0.4.x or later.

You can already play pacman while playing OpenRCT2 by playing pacman in another window, or even on another device. Feel free to make the plugin though, someone already did minesweeper as a plugin so I suppose it's possible.
-
This page describes how to use RCTC with OpenRCT2 (you do not need the minigame, but it is recommended if you use RCTC instead of RCT2). Step 7 tells you what to do when opening OpenRCT2 for the first time.
-
If you do not use the launcher, you'll have to manually download and install a new build every time you want to update.

Single Rail Coaster station themes not saving right
jensj12 replied to JMBuilder's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
This should be fixed now. -
It is possible, but requires a bit more manual work, see this wiki page (more info here). Also note that while RCT Classic is advertised as RCT1+2, it is really just only RCT2 (with expansions) with extra scenarios. You still need RCT1 to access some minor RCT1 features of OpenRCT2.

IIRC, shockwave is already included in the official SFMM scenario. You can change the ride type by enabling the arbitrary ride type changes cheat.

Game crash when using scenario editor

According to this GH issue and the PR created for it, it should be fixed soon: #17553- 1 reply

Attached is a list of all 791 objects that (I think) belong to vanilla RCT2 so you can more easily pinpoint the missing objects. There's also an official list of OpenRCT2 objects with the names of their corresponding RCT2 objects HERE, but those follow the current OpenRCT2 structure and may include new stuff (like split paths/railings). summary.txt
-
There are now 3 consecutive topics with the exact same name (bar exclamation marks). Please try to be a bit more descriptive so we can search the topic list more easily (or create a single topic and post all your parks in there, as most of them are quite similar in style).
