  1. The idea is that stats only show up in red if it inflicts a rating penalty. Positive vertical Gs never incur a penalty, so they won't show up in red, ever. Though it makes sense that stats only get red if it becomes problematic, maybe having insane vertical Gs never giving a penalty was the problem.
  2. OpenRCT2 already supports custom objects, so go ahead and create it if you really want it.
  3. With cheats, you can merge different ride types, similar to how the looping on Son of Beast was just a steel looping on a wooden rollercoaster. Consider doing that instead.
  4. No, currently not. Please check whether you really need the land to be that high, as it can already be raised quite high (turn on heightmarkers to see if the height still makes sense). If the answer is still yes, it might be possible somewhere in the future, as limits are sometimes being raised. For now, you just have to find another way to do the same concept (you might be able to skip the lower parts of the mountain without attractions).
  5. Click+hold the golden shovel (enabled by enabling the cheats top toolbar button in the options) and find the scenario settings. There you can change the guest payment option.
  6. I don't get it. Why would I want this coaster in my collection? It has an impractical footprint, can't be built without cheats and special terrain requirements and the red stats mean that the game advises you to not use it. For any practical use, try to keep your coasters small (so they can be built more easily), avoid cheats and keep the intensity and nausea (misselijkheid) values below 10. If you're going for good stats, excitement (plezier) is the stat that should be as high as possible. I understand that building these extreme coasters can be fun, but sharing them like this serves very little purpose (unless ofc you're going for the most extreme coaster possible, but please keep your attempts in a single topic then).
  7. Building/extending stations while in simulation mode (blue flag) is known to cause issues. See #14696
  8. OpenRCT2's internal systems are based on the RCT2 systems. In particular, OpenRCT2 can load objects just like RCT2 and extended that to handle even more types of objects. Still there's also a naming argument to make. OpenRCT could either refer to RCT1 (but it's more related to RCT2) or to all RCT games, but it definitely is not RCT3/4/W and will never be. (Open)RCT2 could always emulate RCT1, it just does that a lot better now.
  9. It is not fixed yet, but I have seen some work on porting the RCT1 rides to OpenRCT2 in the last months, so it's definitely closer now than it was last year. As with open source projects, I can't give any timeframe on when it will be done, but I have good hopes it wil be within a year.
  10. Do all parks fail to save or is it one specific park? If it's just one park, do you know anything odd with it (maybe share an earlier save)? Does it work when you save it as a new file? If it's all parks, check whether OpenRCT2 has permission to write in that location. If that doesn't help, try temporarily disabling your virusscanner (turn it back on asap afterwards) to see if that caused issues. Before I forget, also include the version of OpenRCT2 you're using (in the about-window).
  11. IIRC this is caused by a mixed install (files from different versions of OpenRCT2). Uninstall OpenRCT2 and install it again and it should be good.
  12. That simply happens with programs that don't have a massive userbase. You can either tell bitdefender to trust OpenRCT2, or download (and check) the source and build the game yourself.
  13. OpenRCT2 already loads RCT1 saves and scenarios to the point they are and play nearly identical. There is no need for OpenRCT1.
  14. To make proper screenshots of the entire park, first zoom in to the desired zoom level and then use the giant screenshot button. That makes a crisp screenshot of the entire park, allowing us to view everything in full detail.
  15. Whenever you put something up for download (park or track), please include a screenshot so we can see what we can download.
  16. Go to options and enable the cheats top toolbar button. You can also open the cheat window directly be tapping Ctrl-C. OpenRCT2 settings default to optimal scenario play (what RCT(2) was originally designed for), hence cheats are disabled by default.
  17. Do what the error message tells you: copy the csg1i.dat file from the RCT1 loopy landscapes cd to the RCT1 install on your hard drive (from and to the data folder).
  18. This has been reported but is quite complicated to fix, see #13397.
  19. OpenRCT2 can use RCT2 from any source (CD, steam or gog) and load your old saves and scenarios. The RCT1 installation can also be from any source, as long as it's loopy landscapes or deluxe. Since you still have the discs around, I recommend securing the required files (at least the data folders, and any saves/scenarios/tracks you want to keep) from their installations to use with OpenRCT2 so you can play without ever inserting the cd's again. Make sure you copy the csg1i.dat from from the loopy landscapes cd as well, as that file isn't copied when installing RCT1.
  20. The title sequence indeed changes every release. I don't know how to get older versions
  21. Bear in mind that OpenRCT2 is not RCT2, and a 1 on 1 replacement of the executable will not work without moving other files too. I recommend adding OpenRCT2 as non-steam game to steam (though it won't count your playtime). For OpenRCT2, having RCT2 installed through steam should be no different than any other source. Scenarios (and tracks) should go in the OpenRCT2 documents folder, usually [users/Documents/]OpenRCT2/scenario (or /track). Scenarios are locked by default (RCT1-style) and can be unlocked by winning easier scenarios. If you want access to all scenarios without playing, disable progressive scenario unlocking in the options.
  22. If the game shows 'update available' after starting it with the launcher, you either encountered some race condition (update wasn't available yet when starting the launcher) or didn't start the game through the launcher. I'm using the launcher as well so I can't tell for sure but iirc clicking that button should indeed lead you to the OpenRCT2 website so you can quickly download the latest version.
  23. RCT Classic does not contain any RCT1 content. The RCT1 scenarios that come with it are just recreations with RCT2 content. For complete information about using RCT Classic for OpenRCT2, see this wiki page. It is a known issue that the music doesn't work. Btw, if you only very recently got RCT Classic, you might still be able to refund it and get RCT1+2 instead (Deluxe and Triple Thrill Pack). That is easier to setup and does enable all RCT1 content.
  24. Cheats can be enabled in the options (or ctrl-c for the cheats window). Multiplayer is accessible from the main menu (3rd big button).
  25. If you have a ride that uses the same track, it will show up as a vehicle for that ride. Check if you already have any other observation tower. It should list the (number of?) available vehicles at the bottom of the window. Alternatively, click the build button on the news message.
