We usually skip the entire turn of someone who offends a rule. Feel free to build a rollercoaster next turn (we've forgotten it by that time), but some non-rollercoaster rides are welcome too, or build some scenery for undecorated coasters.
-
@Squab You know building two rollercoasters in one turn is not allowed? And can you provide some more information on how/where the crash on Frozen Plants happened? Edit: it was still in a crashed state in that save, and I saw it crashed much sooner than it used to do. My best (and probably last) bet would be to make the track from the station to the lifthill shorter (down-left-right-lift). Giving the trains more speed by making the lifthill longer only makes the problem worse. Looking more closely at Sasquatch, it has 3 trains and looks like a proper 3-train block system, but the middle block section doesn't have a block brake at the end

For now you can increase the scale factor to 'zoom in', zoom out on the normal playing window to compensate for the side-effects.

Mouse just plays fine, though I think hotkeys will be faster once I get the hang of it and I might even use it as standard instead of mouse. I think only the arrow keys (or wasd) will do fine for up/down/left/right (hit multiple times for steeper/sharper). Since there will probably be many hotkeys for this a toggle might be welcome. I don't know yet how hotkeys will be useful for special track pieces, 0-9 to select directly and + - to cycle through them?

River quest needed a path underneath it because guests could not find the entrance otherwise. They are now stuck at the exit =/ (which you can already see in the image)

I changed something from red to purple, most likely the color of the umbrellas

Fixed Typhoon by adding block sections. Added paths and a bathroom which would have been on the screenshot if I didn't take it that early (please add more bathrooms, over 300 guests need one). Ok, did some more checks on The Villain/Hero, if a safety cut-out happens immediatly after a train leaves the station, it will have two trains running really close after each other and we can't do anything against it (and it means we can barely do anything against it on any coaster). Pathing issue Przemek pointed out is also fixed. Currently working on a indoors river rapids ride.

@UTMAN How's it going? You've already used 39/48 hours.

I'd say rct1 is better than rct2, but openrct2 is better than rct1. Rct2 just threw everything at you as if it was nothing which is good for the sandboxers, but that's not me. Player experience is more than just having the scenarios. Welcome cparkes92!

The passenger load is the main reason why trains hit each other. Certain breakdowns cause trains to leave without passengers or make trains wait outside the station. The chance of a crash on The Villain/Hero may be greatly reduced by making the first chainlift 1 shorter and adding one on the 3 (then 2) flat track pieces after that. Typhoon can be partly fixed by removing the chanift, brake failure may still cause issues (didn't check yet).
-
That's already in the github issue too: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/450
-
My guide for creating safe coasters is only for operating modes in RCT1. Just make sure the train leaves the first block after the chainlift faster than it takes to get to the top of the chainlift. Adjust min. wait time if it doesn't.
-
Both crashes are caused by a safety cut-out. I can fix both if you allow me to (just close them for now). Typhoon because of the chainlift at the end and The Villain (and The Hero too) by the flat section between the chainlifts (longer min. wait time or min. passenger load can help too). (edit: after some testing I found that there had to be two consecutive breakdowns on the villain as with only one the trains won't hit each other). Coaster safety guideline: Only use a chainlift directly out of the station or crashes will happen over time, or use a proper block system.

I can't tell you how much I like park concepts like this. Please try to build it without shuttle coasters next time

The site the launcher links to (openrct.net) has been removed. Soon there will be a new content store.

Multiplayer - Incorrect software version
jensj12 replied to BlackHoleDragon's topic in General Discussion
There are two 'latest' builds: 0.0.3 stable and 0.0.4 develop. Stable shouldn't change much and develop changes daily. Try the other update channel if you can't connect to a server. -
Path building tool won't work right.
jensj12 replied to ShaftamusPrime's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
At the bottom of the footpath build window there are two buttons (free build and track-like building, the left one is selected), click the right button and try again. -
Enabling lifthill rollback disables crucial safety systems. If we did that we have to make a new breakdown (chainlift broken) where trains would fall back immediatly if these safety systems were disabled (probably even add that to safety cut-out with a 10% chance). Still, I'd love to see that option, though just forward incline shuttle mode and rct1-like boosts would be enough too.

There you are. Queue is getting quite long now. Claimed: -- Next In Line: @xbalogan, qbbq, imlegos , UTMAN, jensj12, Wuis, Philmon, Squab, przemek, Broxzier, WobblyRails, Racey Missed Turn: Enner

I've found the cause, save attached. It's caused by a safety cut-out, multiple trains get stuck on the chain lift and if the one in front has less guests riding it than the cart behind it, they will hit each other there causing them to lose a lot of speed, and eventually a crash. Change it to wait for full (without a max wait time) to fix the issue. The true cause is the long path from the station to the lift hill. Community Park V2.68 before crash.sv6

problem: cannot load file requires add-on pack
jensj12 replied to joshmarsilio's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
These add-ons (wacky world and time twister) are official paid add-ons. We can't give them away for free. Buy the triple thrill pack from steam, gog or a local store to get both add-ons. -
Do you have an autosave from just before the crash? I thought I fixed it but the cause seems to be something else (and I can't stand not being able to solve crashes).
-
I've had this too a few times and it resolved itself every time. Do a full reboot, wait an hour (or day) and/or click 'update' before pressing play again. If it doesn't work you can manually download the latest game version from the website (not the launcher).
