Having Issues Attempting To Install OpenRCT2
jensj12 replied to AccursedLodestone's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
The easiest way to install openrct2 is to download the launcher from this page: https://openrct2.org/downloads. The launcher will take care of the installation and update the game automatically (either stable or develop version). -
Use the stable version of the game, it's less likely to crash and corrupt saves (which I had a lot lately with the develop branch).

I use this one for all my micro parks, made it myself using the in-game scenario editor. Park size is 21x21. I suppose we should create a 'Micropark showcase' thread somewhere to showcase all micro-parks. Once it's finished you aren't really working on it anymore Micro Sandbox.sc6

Track Building Inconsistency
jensj12 replied to Nurse_Lucario's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
The button does (sometimes) appear when building a medium curve instead of a sharp curve, but since that doesn't result in a valid piece you cannot build it. Posted it on the issue tracker: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/2838 -
How are Excitement, Intensity and Nausia ratings calculated exactly?
jensj12 replied to Typhoon's topic in General Discussion
This wiki page gives a better explanation of ride-independent calculations: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Ride-rating-calculation -
It's not really needed to change it. It'll work as it is now, or correct me if I'm wrong. If you do change it, make sure it won't have the issues this one had.

Many, many fixes all around the park (including the waterfall near waterfall - the ride), redid thw two new buildings near pond splash to match the other building's style and added a coaster next to Rockside Terror. Both cold coasters are hopefully fixed now, Frozen Eggplant should work properly now, I've added another service entrance at the station that didn't have one yet. FrozenPlants crashed again and I've edited the coaster to (hopefully) prevent that from happening again. I had to remove the sync option from The Villain/Hero as neither of them continued to operate with. Mechanics get stuck searching for Harbor Twister Left if they enter the queue line instead of the path to the exit. Now to the creative part of my turn: I've increased the size of the rock and pre-terraformed some dunes near. The shape of the rock is by no means it's final form, so feel free to change it and extend it. On the rock I've added another coaster near Rockside Terror which goes upside down, or Rockside Down, to be more specific. Guests: almost 6000. Park rating: 999. There is a ride that has been ridden more than 100k times. Claimed: - Next In Line: @Wuis, Philmon11, Squab, Broxzier, WobblyRails Xbalogan, qbbq, imlegos , UTMAN, jensj12 Missed Turn: Enner Note: watch out when using the mountain tool near walls, it can ruin a lot of ground quite fast. @UTMAN Where's the save? edit: seems like I have to refresh to see edited posts

Currently working on another micro park. This time I started with a missive block of ice: Current attractions: Chairlift, Dreadnaught Drop, Hot Flight, Cold Flight, Elevator, Over the Edge, GoKarts, Slippery Saucers, Shrads of Ice, Walls of Ice Good idea's for more attractions will recieve a warm welcome!

At least all water has to be equal height or higher than the water in the center lake. You are allowed to make caves/valleys/etc. but please don't simply go downhill. I'll make some dunes near the big rock and try to fix those coasters in my next turn (which is after UTMAN). Is someone typing over the list every time instead of copying? I can spot two spelling mistakes.

I doubt if disabling the cars per train limit will work properly, as it is either limited by the coaster type or station lenght. If trains are longer than the station it might cause bugs with peeps entering and I don't know how the physics calculations react to new things. Still it might be funny to see a train of 30 cars on a steel twister coaster. As for disabling number of trains limit, you got my full support. In fact, I played RCT1 with a patch that allowed me to put 12 trains on any coaster and I used more than would fit in the station quite often. RCT2 fixes most issues quite nicely with the introduction of block brakes, but when using continuous circuit mode this cheat would be very useful.

Currently it's impossible to play without desyncs (staff doesn't sync yet) and there's no easy way to resync other than leaving and joining. To play multiplayer, make sure you have 'continue playing after desync' (or similar) enabled in the options menu and reconnect every now and then.

WobblyRails is working on it, Broxzier just put the wrong name there.

I can't load it either. I get an error when loading the park: object.c:171, object not installed. edit: Many parks throw a lot of errors: ride.c:173, invalid index 255 for ride type (or any sequence of number). edit2: loading the park I just built myself also doesn't work

Good to see this being worked on. You won't see the launcher if you click 'Get the latest download' on the homepage.

Tornado - Avonturenpark Hellendoorn El Condor - Walibi Holland (first Vekoma SLC ever built, watch out for headaches, haven't been on other SLC's yet) Any boomerang coaster (I hate the second backwards inversion) Robin Hood - Walibi Holland (I love wood, but new track on top of it would be very welcome) Falcon - Duinrell

It seems a vehicle malfunction makes trains stop at the station and call a mechanic to the station it's stuck in. I guess we can fix that by adding an entrance with a no entry sign in front of it. One of the temporary shortcut bridges is cut off near the last duelling impulse coasters. Seems like someone forgot to add an attraction on the big rock, paths are still there

1. Hard to get any easier, shift and ctrl already work nicely together. 3. Doesn't only require full decompilation, but also a custom non-RCT2-compatible save file. 6. RCT2 is sprite-based, it doesn't have any 3D models which are needed for POV. You can import your designs in RCT3 or import RCT1 coaster designs in NoLimits to ride them. 9. You can use a cheat to use trains from other coaster types in meantime. 10. Try the twisted rollercoaster type. 11. Good idea, and let peeps not enter if they think it's too long. 12. Will be done sometime, you can already do this by saving a small ride near. 14. Try to place a medic room near. 15. Due the way peeps enter coasters (which is best described as fast track only), this is not needed. 17. The effect of inversions on intensity is fully intentional. 19. Currently already possible by adding up to 2 custom music files or replacing existing music (guide somewhere on this forum). I guess adding more custom music files requires 3. to be done first. 20. This will require all new sprites to be drawn and new physics rules to be added to the game., can be done, but takes quite some time. 23. Needs 3. to be done first. 31. Needs 3. to be done first

I kinda liked the white/blue on a brown/yellow background. It's the roof hanging over the walls and the light aqua pieces that change the look of it too much to like it. I'll see if I can fix that in my next turn if someone else didn't do a full revamp yet.

I hope you had autosave enabled. You can't really trust the dev version of openrct anyways atm

I have Steam, but it wasn't on it.
jensj12 replied to BBZekrom's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
I just used the 'add non-steam game' option in steam to add it to my library. Works even if the launcher doesn't have a steam stub. -
Queue Line Glitch Build 6412aa5
jensj12 replied to CoasterCrazy234's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
I've noticed this too (probably even RCT1). Moving the entrance elsewhere and back fixes the issue. If you don't do this the queue (the people actually waiting in line) will get empty, everyone joining walks straight to the entrance and back. -
