  1. This is most likely an 'issue' of RCT2. The economy in RCT2 (and thus OpenRCT2) is a bit harder than RCT1. Simply check your guests thoughts regularly and reduce prices if needed. The guest thoughts window probably the most helpful feedback tool in the game. The most notable change in OpenRCT2 over RCT2 is that you can no longer ask at least $6 for any new ride, but only for rides that are worth at least $4 without new ride bonus (1 year old).
  2. Technical restriction, limit can't be raised before the new save format is implemented.
  3. Let the voting begin! You can vote by reacting with the 'winner'-emoji (the one you see next to awards in-game). The rules for voting are the same as for giving reputation on this forum. That is, you can vote for as many coasters as you want (but please don't vote for all of them, you can give rep with other emojis as well, that won't count as a vote), and you can't vote for your own work. You can only vote for each coaster once. Voting closes in exactly 17 days from now. Submitting coasters is still allowed, but late submissions may get less votes. If I decide to make a small compilation of all submissions, you may be excluded.
  4. What exactly did you do to get this error? There's currently no information on what might have caused it or which assertion it is.
  5. Looks like your antivirus (Avast) is treating OpenRCT2 like a virus. The only way to fix this is to somehow tell Avast that OpenRCT2 is not a virus. You can try to whitelist OpenRCT2 to prevent any future interventions of Avast.
  6. It's called virtual floor, and it can be disabled (or made less obstructing) in the options. Look for 'virtual floor style: [glassy (translucent)]' in the second tab.
  7. Couldn't resist to make something myself, and found the best way to showcase a coaster in motion: a title sequence wrapped around the save: CCC5 J sequence.parkseq The coaster contains a loop and two corkscrews on each side. Both corkscrews pairs are synchronized and the loops are on the screenshots.
  8. Only 7 days left to submit your coaster!
  9. The game should definitely not crash, that should be reported on GitHub.
  10. Try the RCT1 Deluxe Install subfolder. If that fails, copy the content of the entire RCTDeluxe/RCTDeluxeInstall/Data to the RCTDeluxe/Data folder (ignore duplicates) and point to the RCTDeluxe folder. If that also fails, copy the required RCT1 files to the correct documents/OpenRCT2 subfolder
  11. The options for day/night cycle and lighting and in the second tab.
  12. Assuming your C drive is an SSD and D a HDD, moving OpenRCT2 to your D drive will indeed make loading the game much slower. Programs on a HDD take longer to load in general, and the drive probably has to start up because of OpenRCT2, causing an additional delay. If you play OpenRCT2 frequently, you may want to consider moving less frequently used files (such as photos and movies) to your D drive.
  13. If there is no proper way to do it, you can force it using symbolic links. That works for any folder.
  14. The folder you need to select is the folder that (directly) contains the .exe file, and has data, scenario and objdata subfolders. Suppose you select folder RCT2, then RCT2\data\g1.dat should exist (do not select the data folder directly).
  15. There's something wrong with the invalidation of tiles, see https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/7655. Moving your mouse over them and/or alt-tabbing in and out of the game might fix the issue few a few seconds.
  16. RCT2 uses a palette to render everything. Go to the objects selection (you may need to enable debugging tools in the options first), and check the water color. Changing the water color changes the entire palette (but the original ones only have different water colors). Does changing or reselecting the water color help?

Queue: Broxzier Missed: Redscope53, Deurklink, Wuis, UTMAN, giraty Not happy with what I made. If I find some more inspiration I might reclaim and continue my turn, but not now.

  19. Checkout the Blackpool Please Beach park from RCT1. It uses additional upwards track to make the train return.
  20. In that case, please open a new issue on github. I have no idea what else could have caused this.
  21. It's in documents/openrct2/save/autosave. Starting rfom the default save location, just go to the autosave subfolder.
  22. Use OpenRCT2, that has a built in cheat to use as many trains/cars per train as you'd like. While OpenRCT2 is built for use with RCT2 assets, it should also work with RCTC, though you may need to move some files manually. RCTC is just RCT2 with a new UI and RCT1 scenarios added.
  23. Have you tried closing OpenRCT2 and opening it again? OpenRCT2 uses a list of images that are currently in use. After loading some parks, this can become too fragmented to function properly. See https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/6073#issuecomment-318852637
  24. Try the launcher to run the game. That should work in almost any case and it keeps the game updated. Since you have a Program Files (x86) folder, it most likely means your computer is 64-bit and you should use the x64 version (but x86 should work anyways).
