If OpenRCT2 cannot find the original game files, it should open a window asking you to specify the location. Which path did you select there?

The Scenario Editor is very buggy. I cannot say for sure why it freezes in your case without having a landscape to test it with. Did you save your work in the meantime? You should be able to load one and continue with it. If you don't: check if you have any autosaves. They are in a subfolder of the "save" folder.

RTC2 Triple Thrill & Deluxe Question
Gymnasiast replied to Dark_Horizon_82's topic in General Discussion
It's not the same, no. RCT Deluxe is to RCT1 what Triple Thrill Pack is to RCT2: the game bundled with the expansions. You cannot substitute one for another. OpenRCT2 needs Triple Thrill Pack. Optionally, you can also _add_ RCT Deluxe to improve OpenRCT2 with some extra features. Edit: note that you don't strictly need Triple Thrill Pack. The disc versions of RCT2+WW+TT will also work. The same applies to RCT1: RCT1+Loopy Landscapes will work just as well as RCT Deluxe. -
How do you open the console in Steam?
Gymnasiast replied to echxveria's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
The operating system you're using is about the bare minimum you need to specify. But I'm a bit confused by this sentence anyway. Do you mean that your primary system is not a Mac? If so, what operating system does it have? You cannot download OpenRCT2 on Steam. You can download the files from RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 from Steam, which are needed in order to make OpenRCT2 work. Perhaps this is what you meant, but I need to check it before moving on to the more complicated stuff. -
Which scenery/themeing does track use?
Gymnasiast replied to TheMindlessGamer's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
The closest you can get is using the Track Designs Manager, which will draw a preview of the ride including its scenery. But you'd have to determine what scenery it uses by eye. -
Shop & Stall/Ride Construction Question - Changing height
Gymnasiast replied to saywhat318's topic in Guides, Tips and Tricks
You hold down the SHIFT key, then move your mouse up and down to adjust the height. (This also works for scenery, by the way, and can also be used to place stuff underground.) -
That is not quite correct. It uses NN for integer scales (so 2x, 3x, ...), but it uses either Smooth Nearest Neighbour or Linear scaling for any non-integer scales (e.g. 1.5x 1,75x, ...).

Is RCT2 From That Tutorial Compatible with OpenRCT2?
Gymnasiast replied to LeoKids's topic in General Discussion
Yup, so far even oddball version such as the Polish and Russian versions work, even the ultra-rare Japanese versions seem to work without any problem. I would still recommend that you _buy_ RCT2. You don't need to worry about language differences - OpenRCT2 ignores the language of your RCT2 files and allows you to play in *any* language that RCT2 ever shipped in, as well as a lot more! -
Building OpenRCT2 on Rpi4 with Raspberry Pi OS
Gymnasiast replied to Hans5849's topic in General Discussion
There is no need to get sarcastic. This is also not the right way to do it. `make install` will take care of downloading objects and title sequences. If you ever need to install objects manually, the best way is to download an objects release and unzip it. -
Booster pieces & track type changes
Gymnasiast replied to F0ndue's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
@ls004 You will need to report your version and build hash (e.g. ab1c2d3e). It's possible you're on an old version of OpenRCT2. (Also, next time, please create your own topic instead of hijacking someone else's.) -
Installation difficulties on Mac
Gymnasiast replied to daaabus's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
Besides the command not being in your path, you downloaded the wrong .exe - if it has GOG_Galaxy in its name, its an installer stub that downloads the game for you. What you need is the offline installer (a couple of a hundred megs) for RCT2. -
To make sure it isn't a bug, could you upload your scenario?

Unable to deselect park entrance – but none on map
Gymnasiast replied to Entheta's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
Upload your .sc6/.sv6. It's something we could add autofix code for. -
@daaabus You should not hijack someone else's topic (create your own), but even if you do: at least include enough information for us to actually *do* something about it. Stuff like the output of commands that did not work.

Program wont run after extracting
Gymnasiast replied to MattKnill's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
To elaborate on X7's point: you need to own RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, and you need to have it installed first. -

Game Will Not Load On MacBook
Gymnasiast replied to MonsterTruckGuy's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
So you get this error every single time on startup? Could you pinpoint the exact version where it started to go wrong? You can download older develop versions from this website. -
Downloads spelling error "throroughly"
Gymnasiast replied to MegaMech's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
I have contacted Jarno, who maintains this site, so it should hopefully be solved soon. -
It is planned, but see here: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Increasing-of-game-limits#can-openrct2-increase-the-number-of-
