  1. I see there is now a "Set Time" function added to the console. Does anyone know what how the value for the Set Time variable is configured?
  2. 1920's board track racing. Those are 40 degree banked turns on 2x4's fastened on edge. Most tracks 1 1/2 to 2 miles long. Cars went 120 to 150 MPH!
  3. Nice work! Good use of pics with your explanations. I am sure some of us never thought of this.
  4. The guest entry point(s) can't be an owned piece of property. You could use an invisible entrance and place it on the second tile from the edge. The entrance path tile and the tiles on each side of the entrance tile can't have anything on them at ground level. All three entrance tiles can be covered with scenery 6 units above ground level even if the entrance is invisible.
  5. A couple of things to look for: 1. Do you own ALL the ground you are trying to build on? If not go into sandbox mode and set the ride. 2. Is the area you are trying to use flat? The coaster may have been saved on flat ground and you are setting it a hilly area which will be beyond the tracks' parameters. Along the same lines if the ride was built on hilly terrain, you may not be able to build that high where you were planning. 3. Was ANY part of the original ride underground? If there was you will have to use zero clearance. It will show white because it is trying to build everything above ground which again may be beyond the tracks parameters.

    openrct3?

Give the developers a break already! They have taken on a huge project in reworking the game we all love. I imagine that some of them are wondering what the hell they have gotten themselves into. This work is tedious, frustrating and time consuming and takes LOTS of patience. Let's enjoy what they have already done so far and wish them continue success!!!!! PS: My company that I sold upon retiring did beta testing of telephone system voice mails on LINUX as they reversed engineered the ones which were designed for windows 2000. The end products were far superior to the windows ones with practically no breakdowns but this took almost 2 1/2 years. I think the end OpenRCT2 will be spectacular with something for everyone.
  7. I may be a little slow sometimes, but I can not figure out how to bring up an SV4 saved game with all rides and attractions intact. I am missing something somewhere because I always end up getting dumped. Please explain!
  8. I tried putting two coasters next to each other with the first station adjacent to its counterpart going opposite directions. They just sit there waiting for another station adjacent going the same direction.
  9. If a peep selects a ride it wants and passes several other rides or attractions while on the way will it get distracted and choose something else or does it stay tunnel visioned to its perceived goal?
  10. I have tried to do this same thing before and unless there is a cheat I am unaware of, the stations where the trains leave from must adjacent or syncing the trains isn't possible (the stations can be of different lengths though). You can have however have non-adjacent exit stations.
  11. An observation on my part. I live within 6 hours drive from 6 completely different amusement parks (Cedar Point, Kings Island, Six Flags over Mid-America, Great America, Michigan Adventure and Kentucky Kingdom). My daughter and I visit at least 2 of them every year because we are rollercoaster fanatics. I also travel a lot and try and visit new park when possible. I have probably been to over 75 parks in my life (some of them unfortunately no longer exist). The one single thing in most parks is that the trees and especially the bushes and shrubs are always trimmed and well maintained. Although the trees may be different most of the bushes are of the same type because that is what grows best in their region of the country and they are the easiest to maintain, so it is not uncommon to see the same type of shrubs thru out an entire park. I understand that some people think that diversity is king and that is their choice. I just don't think nitpicking little things need to be done. Look at the project as a whole entity and the diversity in ride selection and the manor in which they are being presented. Take in consideration the structures, coloring and surroundings. Also how the rides are interwoven together and the way they compliment each other. I will now step down from my soapbox. Remember "It is better to keep silent and be thought of as a fool, than to open your mouth and confirm it!"
  12. @imlegos Do you EVER say anything nice about someone else's work? Why don't you post one of your parks and let the rest of us nitpick it apart! My grandfather always said that unless someone asks for your opinion - keep yours to your self. Remember opinions are like assholes, everyone has one one and some are bigger than others! @Zoomer36 I think your park is pretty cool!
  13. I ran a test because I was having similar happenings. Using development 964cf66 and a blank park with no rides, after 5-7 "days" the freeze takes place. It only happens using rides that have been hacked (this ride doesn't show up on the stable version). Using rides that show up on the stable version, you can hold them for a long time on either version. I kept one for 30 days on both stable and develop versions. They haven't generated any dump files because I have to open the task manager to close the game.
  14. Just a tip that some of probably know but others might not is on the river rapids/oak barrel ride normally turns slowly counter clockwise. Whirlpools make the boat turn faster counter clockwise. If you place a whirlpool with in a tile or two after a left turn it will stop the ship completely then make it turn clockwise for a tile then stop turning for a tile and return to its normal counter clockwise slow turn. Placing it after a right hand turn will spin it twice as fast for 2-3 tiles then return to normal speed.
  15. Something else that is different with OpenRCT2 as opposed to vanilla RCT2 that is weather changes. If your game is set for warm, on RCT2 thunderstorms come around every 45 days or so, with OpenRCT2 that changes to every 20-25 days. Cool and wet doesn't seem to be that much different neither does cold. This happens on four of my scenarios - two are remakes of RCT scenarios and the others created by me in RCT2. I haven't finished any new scenarios using OpenRCT2 yet, so I can't really judge playing them on RCT2.
  16. Very impressive and elaborate. What is the theme name?
  17. It wasn't a pressing thing, just a thought of something that might be useful.
  18. Are there other items the console can do besides the ones listed on github?
  19. 1. If you are are in a game and are going to modify it, first put the game in the sandbox mode (if using the scenario editor, skip to 2). NOTE: The game can't be in the pause mode! 2. Click the map icon the popup appears and select the park owned icon. 3. Check/uncheck the box of what you want the land to be (land owned, Construction, etc). 4. Now if you click the middle of the + and - box it will bring up another popup which will allow you to enter a number from 1 to 64. Everything always works squared 1x1 all the way to 64x64. This is the same for changing water and land.
  20. there are no variables listed for any date functions. Set/get date - asks for value. Entering anything returns invalid value.
  21. Isit (new word) possible to change the year, month and day either forward or back like we could using 8cars? Through the console maybe?
  22. Granted, but then you would just fill it up with meaningless crap. I wish Space Invaders and Asteroids would return.
  23. Open the options menu on the opening page. Select the gears tab. Uncheck the "cheats" checkbox, this will disable the cheats. If the checkbox under"Group scenario list by" is selected - change group scenario list by to "Source Game", then uncheck the "Enable unlocking of scenarios". Next change source game back to "Difficulty level".
  24. If you go to the options menu on the main startup page, select the gears tab and uncheck the box marked "Select rides by track type (like RCT1)" you will find that monster trucks and pickup trucks will be displayed separately. If you have not researched them they will not show up.
  25. Try running it in XP SP2 mode. RCT2 didn't run well with SP3. Upgrade to Windows 10 and you won't have any problems. He should get a free upgrade! Windows 8 and 8.1 both suck for playing any RCT version.
