  1. Dumb question - How do you place the ride higher? I have tried Shift and ctrl and neither do anything.
  2. This sounds strange but I modified a track and added some scenery then saved it with the same name. The old track was still in the RCT2 track file and the new track in the OpenRCT2 track file. No problem. I deleted the track from the RCT2 track file and it still shows up when I bring up the construct screen. Both tracks still show up, the old one with no scenery and the new one with scenery. I looked in the RCT2 track index file (tracks.idx) and the old track is gone. Where is the game getting the old track from and how do I get rid of the old track. I am currently on build 8efe669.
  3. I downloaded a text editor (TextPad 8) and I see what you mean by tedious and confusing. I am very computer literate but not machine language literate, Could you explain how to do this?
  4. The tornado was shut down and demolished in 1978 after a fire started by an arsonist in 1977. Thanks for the info, so a standard text editor will work?
  5. A question I hope someone can answer. I have in my track file a ride named Tornado @ Coney Island. It was locally known as the "Bobs" and was scary as hell (I rode it once upon a time in 1965). It is (track wise) an excellant reproduction of the actual ride. The track Designs manager shows the ride WITH scenery so I know that all the scenery dats are already in my ObjData file, problem is I can't identify all the dats required. Can anyone help me figure out what dats to use. Thanks - ahead of time Tornado @ Coney Island.TD6
  6. While exiting track manager the system crashed twice. I haven't noticed this before now. Here are the files. I think this may have been asked before, but is there anyway that possibly a drop down box could be used to show which dats are used with the track for scenery? The track file obviously has an internal list of all the dats used in order to display the picture with scenery and which type cars are used. 7. There are a couple of land and vertical face overlays that are around LBKLNCG1 for ground and LBKLNWC1 for vertical face. Both are colorable, the land tile has a grass look. LBKLNBC1.DAT LBKLNWC1.DAT
  8. Here is the td6 file Forest Freeze 2.td6
  9. An interesting thing happened while redesigning and adding scenery to an existing track. I reworked the track so it would be more compact and less expensive. Saved the design after testing and then added the track to a blank scenario - no problem. I then added scenery to the ride and saved the track under a different name. The problem is when I go to load the track with the scenery the picture shows all the scenery but only a portion on the scenery is actually loaded. This did not generate a dump file. Any suggestions? This has not happened in the past. I use the launcher with the latest upgrades. This was upgrade v0.0.5 build e455787. 00F - FOREST FREEZE 2.sv6
  10. I noticed that also. How does the game know whether to select to coaster from the RCT track list or the OpenRCT list. I took an existing track and modified it and added scenery and it appears in the OpenRCT track folder but the original track is still in the RCT folder. I guess there is one advantage, if I don't like the newer version I can always delete the track from OpenRCT/track and the game would select the RCT version.
  11. All of these rides were ones that were found in other's parks or downloaded on line. Can the checksums be corrected?
  12. Every once in a while I get a message "Warning[src\object.c:288 (Object_load_packed)]: Checksum mismatch from packed object: autocars" The end object sometimes changes depending on what game I am working on (MetRHtAr) 1. What is this and is anything to worry about. 2. How can I remedy this issue?
  13. Just wondering, would it possible to have an option to modify the basic color palette of the game? The in game colors are ok, but think of the color creations and combinations! Just wondering
  14. Mine to, it said the certificate expired at 1:37PM central daylight time.
  15. My name is Charlie and I am 69 years old and retired so I get to play all day. I started playing RCT when it first came out and went thru 2 disks. I got started playing because my father started me riding rollercoasters at Riverview Park in Chicago in 1953 and I loved it. I have traveled around the USA and have ridden over 100 different coasters and I thought that this game would allow me to build my dream coaster (I have built some whoopers that I might not go near). When RCT2 came out I thought I was in heaven being able to not only design my coasters but also make my own park! I currently have 301 parks that I play with and sometimes modify but I don't hold a candle to some of you and your park building abilities. I was directed here by a friend while I was looking for a particular piece of scenery and I am happy I did. You members have already answered several questions that I have had posted on forums. My favorite park unquestionably is Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. My top five coasters (not in any order) are: Millennium @ Cedar Point, the original Steel Phantom @ Kennywood, The Beast @ Kings Island, The Cyclone @ Coney Island and The Bobs @ Riverview Park (Sadly this park is now industrial park). Just outside my top 5 is Thunderbolt @ Kennywood (just don't get stuck riding in left seat - anyone who has ridden it will know what I mean)!
  16. Thanks, I love this game!!!!!!!!
  17. I switched using the launcher from the stable option to the recent download option and I found a bug but I don't know which update I am using. How do you know which version? My bug is the version I am using doesn't allow shortcut keys. You can press the key and nothing happens but it doesn't produce an error msg. Also, one other interesting thing happening. I have windows 7 on my desktop and while playing (not using the launcher) and saving a coaster it always wants to put .td? at the end and I have to change it to .png. If I use the launcher on the same computer and save the same coaster - no problem. If I am playing on my laptop with windows 10 - no problem. Is my desktop in the Outer Limits or what!
  18. I don't know if this is a bug or not. I started using the Launcher program to run the game because I didn't want to miss any new stable downloads. Here is the problem once the game starts, let's say you want to modify a coaster by adding scenery to it. You load trainer and select the coaster, as long you keep using it (doing anything) it runs fine. However lets say you get a phone call and have to leave the game (either paused or just setting idle) if you are gone for more than 5 minutes when you come back it will let you save the coaster and save the trainer, but if you try and load a new game from the menu it locks up and you either wait for the processor to tell you it has a problem and close the game (Windows 7) or you go to the Task Manager and stop the game. This does NOT happen if you start the game not using the launcher. Enclosed is a dump file that was created. Also it is a real pain to have to open the options menu and make changes every time you run via launcher. 8068e6ae-786f-48b6-b004-9f2ac8f1c11f.dmp
  19. I take it that the Launcher will keep me updated with the latest stable version if I set it up that way? By the way, this game is the "Greatest thing since sliced bread"! Is there a limit on the number of dats allowed? In the original RCT2 you could have over 6000 except you could not scroll the small scenery items in the scenario editor if you had more than about somewhere between 5000 and 5500 in the ObjData file.
  20. Another question that you two I am sure can answer is: Am I better off to download the current update or wait for the next STABLE version.
  21. Did a little research and found that ALL of the coasters that Steve Parks put in his ride packs were built using RCT1, which did have different ground types, etc. Even though he "converted" most of the coasters to td6 the pics are still of the td4 rides.
  22. Thanks, I never thought of using a path. I found one that was full tiled and in a gray tile form and was able to darken it up.
  23. This tunnel roof is what I am trying to duplicate
