Oh, I always called them Scenic Railways, but that might be a regional thing.

Scenic railways are basically normal tourist full-size trains that take them through scenic areas, often on multi-day trips.  Pleasure railways are basically an early coaster.

I'll likely miss my chance, I can't get the park file to load. I'll see what I can do though.

Try allowing incorrect checksums in the options.

  3. Making some small changes:

-Added more capacity to Turbulence to cut the wait time by four minutes.

-Added an Harry Potter Wesley's house walkthrough ride and Hobbit house walkthrough ride.  Compensated for the use of two more ride spaces by deleting duplicate stalls.

-Added a few more underground paths to connect two tunnels together near Turbulence.

If we want to do a group park with cc/expansions, why don't we start one separately, and leave this one as the "official-ish" group park?

This would be a good idea.

    I second this.

Also, I'd be happy to help with the landscaping, so sign me up! Also. Should we make a rule about pathing? Like, themed paths is great, but at the same time, I see half of this type of path there and half of this type here. Should we have an overall design/material for the primary paths? Like for instance, the primary path idea in this picture. Also these are my path suggestions. They offer a somewhat unified look, yet diversity.path suggestions.png

If we want to get into the game intro, we can't use custom content or any expansion packs.

Same goes for the Netherlands. It used to be a swamp once. ;)

But what I do get is that some people were looking forward to building something more beach-like.

Not all rivers do though. And personally, I'm opposed to making swampy land there. I think it will prove too difficult to build realistically on swampy land. It's one thing to have plenty of land to build on and a river to interact with, but I don't think there will be any landmasses of any significant size enough to build on. If you want swampy land for a certain attraction or 2, I suggest you just add the swampy land when you build it, and only where necessary.

It doesn't have to be a big swamp that fills most of the coast- just a small one where the river meets the sea.

Me too, coast and larger river / water area it is, when I get home I'll make a new sketch with the ideas. The river should lead to the beach part.

Can we have a swampy part at the river delta?

I kind of usually landscape while designing a coaster or whole area, so I am not sure if I can just do good landscaping for the sake of landscaping. :/ I would probably skip the landscaping and start with non-coaster entrance areas! But a general layout for the park is never wrong and I agree with cascadia on a water themed area, maybe even think about a "coast" theme? You know, with maybe a small woodie into the ocean + exctiting rides + stalls on a pier or something like that. ;)

Yes, let's add a coast to one of the edges of the map! :D

The layout of the paths remind me of the Efteling. :P

I think it's quite a good idea, but to let people have that much space on flat terrain seems a bit excessive, especially if they aren't going for the one or two giga coasters the park will have. Also, I like the fact that the centre square is something white, thus a building or a nice fountain, I'd like such.

How about rerouting the river after the falls to go to the left instead of down? that way we can have some nice interactions with hte water (bridges, water rides, etc.)

    I agree with these posts.

My apologies, I saw that Cascadia had attached a letter to the end after making only minor changes, so I had assumed that was the accepted format for file names when one had only made small changes / no new rides.

You only attach letters if you just took a turn and want to make minor edits to it after already uploading the park.

What do you claim? Land? A Map?

You claim a turn, which gives you 48 hours to do whatever you want with the latest version of the park within the rules before you upload your new version.

So, for example, Broxzier is first on the queue, claims a turn, works on the park following the rules and the 48 hour time limit, and uploads version 1.01 of the park before the time limit is up, adding himself back to the end of the queue.  Wuis is next in the queue, so claims a turn, works on the park building off the 1.01 version, and uploads the new version, called 1.02.  Jensi12 is next, so claims and works on the park, building off the 1.02 version, and uploads the new version, called 1.03.  And so on.

I would love to join! Although, I wouldn't be able to do much, aside for maybe a couple flat rides, or a dinky coaster. If there happens to be a GP4, I'll join in an instant.

Also, this seems like a type of park that would go up on New Element. Will it? That would be a great way to show off our work on a dedicated network.

go ahead and add me in if ya like. (You may have to explain to me how this works though) ;)

I did explain how it works- in my previous post explaining the rules.

I just want to comment on how (don't mind the cursing)

fucking  FANTASTIC this has turned out so far! You've all done an impeccable job! I can not bear to see the final final final product! I wish I had joined MUCH earlier, I could have done my own works, but now, to be able to show my full extent, I would need a lot, A LOT more room.

Once again, I cannot appreciate this park, and this effort put in by ya all enough! Once more,

    This IS fucking fantastic.

Thanks to both you, and everyone who made this park a success!  I only did a small part, but I enjoyed seeing everyone's contributions. :)

Also, please take a turn and build something in the park.  A little effort is better then nothing, even if you can only do a little bit. ;)

Giant screenshots of the current version if the park:

    https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0yCh32e2sIZUUtDbmV1eG9ndm8

The updated list of places to build in the park:

-The wood behind Motoplex, Skid Row Mice, and the village

-The wood around The Dark Forest has some space

    -The woods around Sioux Falls

-The space between Bouillabaisse and Shooting Star

-The space between and behind both The Stallion and King Of Durango Mountain ( another good place for a coaster with an underground station like Aquamarine)

-Various other small little spaces- perfect for some extra scenery like gardens and small buildings

  14. Uploading a slightly updated version with more scenery:

-Added an Japanese theme to Crazy Karts because of its low, low ratings and renamed it Edo Karts.

-Added some gardens and a picnic area behind Sherbywood Maze.

-Replaced some burger-drink stalls with single stalls that sell both burgers and drinks to free up a bit of ride slots.
