I take it that's supposed to be a "Hidden Machine". What I was refering to was the mechanic in Pokemon where you need a certain "move" or "Hidden Machine (HM)" too progress.

    Ah.

Also, I already have a preexisting template from another project I can use to continue the park news thing on my turn.

Maybe we should name patrolled staff for the area they patrol

For instance: Queen Bee HM 1, Queen Bee M 1, Queen Bee E 1, and Queen Bee SG 1

    (HM = Handyman, M = Mechanic, E = Entertainer, SG = Security Guard)

On another note, spell check identifies "HM" as a valid word, Hidden Machines confirmed?

OH NO, and this next to the Queen Bee coaster! What a coincidence, or is it?

Clearly the killer bees are behind this.  :P  ;)

    hello

allowing custom content on servers made connecting to them almost impossible

Do you have the two expansion packs for RCT2?  I think that "Add-On Pack" refers to the expansion packs rather then custom content, because when you join a server with customer content, the first attempt should download all custom content on the server map and disconnect and the second attempt should connect.

A roof won't make a ride indoors afaik, only underground sections make it rain proof. A roof would thus be only for the looks (and that's why we build stuff here).

Ah, did not know that (are the devs considering adding roofs making rides indoors to the game- it would make sense).  If he does go with what @ziscor suggested, maybe make the see-through part of the roof glass, to give a feeling that the roof is there, just "peeled-away"?

@cascadia Just to make sure, do you have the expansion packs?

    Yep.

I think this should be able to be done right now, but do you really need to sort them for intensity and nausea? :o

It would be useful in multiplayer, so I can build First Aid rooms by people's coasters.

We could as well sort them by any other ride stat if this it's worth it (there are already a lot more sorting options than in the original game). Too many options would clutter the user interface and make the most impartant ones (profit, queue time, age) harder to see.

Just put the most important ones on the top of the list, then.

I've never seen another swimming pool ride but that doesn't mean there's definitely not one ... is there something specifically wrong with AE's? The only thing I can think of is that the peep model isn't that great, but then, that's true of pretty much every custom ride.

Also be aware that METRTUBE.DAT does not export correctly even in OpenRCT2... I still haven't figured out why.

Nope, just wanted to see what any other swimming pool rides were like if they exist.  Thanks! :)

I, personally am against having genders in OpenRCT2 (for the most part). I like the guests right now because they have a mystery element to them. All of them look the same and only wear the same stuff with different colors. This is also why RCT3 doesn't do it for me: they all look unique with different hairstyles, heights and ways of walking. As a Theme Park Simulator this is a very nice choice (this is ironically the direction RCT games have taken now), but I see RCT 1 & 2's aesthetics more like an antique model-set one would probably find in their grand parent's attic. The less detailed the guests are, the better I say.

But then again, if this idea is carefully executed, I just might like it. :P

That's a good point.  If we ever do implement proper swimming pools, through, we should make the sprites for both those rides and other water rides all wear one-piece bathing suits, so we can't tell male and female apart (assuming we don't go down the route of having gendered peeps, which I think is still a good very long range goal).

Open the guest list, group tab, select thoughts from the list, click one of them, click the map icon, and you will see the area where people are having certain thoughts flicker on the map.

I use that all the time, but have no idea how to zoom on maps, plus it would be easier in some situations to have overlays on the main screen instead.

  12. I know it would be complex to add gender, but just wanted to add a suggestion for the far future after the code has been fully reverse-engineered.  The reason for adding official pools and sunbathing rides was just an additional suggestion to tie in with this.  Thanks! :)

  13. One of the things that always bothered me is that peeps on water rides always seem to be either male or topless females (can't really tell, but they all have bare chests).  Perhaps there should be female peeps on water rides, as well (assigned randomly)?

Also, I know that there are fan created swimming pool rides out there, but how about an official OpenRCT swimming pool ride in the future (with both male and female peeps, of course)?  You could combine it with beach and poolside "rides" where peeps get to lay on the sand, towels, or chairs and soak up the sun.
