We will need to know your version and build. You can find it in the “About OpenRCT2” window, where there is also a button to copy the version string. Additionally, does this *only* occur with parks with custom scenery? Does saving regular parks (e.g. Crazy Castle) work?

The GOG version can be extracted by the game itself (provided innoextract is installed, which is included with the flatpak builds). Also, until pushing Proton, it was very involved to install Windows-only games on Steam under Linux, requiring one to start up Steam in console mode and issue several commands. Feel free to open pull requests to update other information on the website.

More path texture options in previous verison
Gymnasiast replied to andy55699's topic in General Discussion
You’re looking in the wrong section. Click the “Advanced” button in the Object Selection and an extra tab will be made available that contains these legacy footpaths. -
Unable to save game, tracks, or scenarios
Gymnasiast replied to Galvan316's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
It sounds like you are running out of memory. Also, please check the autosave folder to see if there are any back-ups of your saves - that’s why we added that. -
still many pic and object fails..
Gymnasiast replied to Timmy's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
We recently merged an update that should extend this image limit, so you should now be able to select more objects without any issues. -

They are all still present in the current develop version. Which ones are you missing? (Adding screenshots might help.) -
RCT Triple thrill pack + OpenRCT2 v's RCT Classic + OpenRCT2
Gymnasiast replied to swellard's topic in General Discussion
The assets that RCT Classic has are the exact same ones as RCT2 has, with the sole exception of the banner font (which is anti-aliased in RCT Classic). The UI is also different and possibly scales a bit a better than OpenRCT2’s UI, which might skew the comparison. -
Adding Paths Causes Crash
Gymnasiast replied to OddmentsAlchemyLab's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
Are you on Windows? It should have asked if you wanted to upload a crash report - did you upload one? Alternatively, do you have a set of steps we can do to reproduce the crash? -
We need to have better server moderation
Gymnasiast replied to Ruuuubs's topic in Multiplayer Discussion
I think that’s a good point - it might provide an outlet for them and take the heat off other servers. If all the tasteless stuff is mostly concentrated in one server, it should also be better for everyone - the trolls/immature people get their server, the “normal” users get the other servers. Simply removing the WTF server from the list is not going to cause the trolls to leave - they will just stalk other servers and I think that’s not what the OP (or most people) wants anyway. I would also like to thank you for replying. I prefer dialogue and negotiation to simply laying down rules (except as a last resort). -
We need to have better server moderation
Gymnasiast replied to Ruuuubs's topic in Multiplayer Discussion
@dartz I should point out that the server in question is listed on the server list and is not behind a password. That doesn’t exactly make it a private server, more a public server. -
Custom objects are packed with the save (although I think this is currently broken for music objects), so you should keep in mind your saves will get quite big. At some point, we want to add more formats to make this kind of thing easier.
-
Yes, you’ll be able to create your own music objects and add as many as you like - no need to swap CUSTOM1.WAV and CUSTOM2.WAV for every park.

Suddenly Everything Needs Downloading
Gymnasiast replied to jakespencer93's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
Your installation is broken. Uninstall OpenRCT2 and then reinstall it. It shouldn’t touch your saves or progress. -
Yeah, we briefly raised it to v10.14 before, but then someone found a way to compile it for v10.13 as well. This time around, though, especially with the infrastructure needed to compile on Big Sur and for ARM, we weren’t so lucky. Current OpenRCT2 versions will still work on Mojave (10.14), which still had 32-bit support. (From your post, I couldn’t quite tell if you were aware of that.)
-
Apple tends to be quite late introducing new C++ features, and since we needed some of them we had to require a certain version of their compiler, which in turn only works on macOS 10.14 and later. The last release of OpenRCT2 that will work on your system is v0.3.4.1. You can download that version here (it won’t auto-update, so it will continue to work indefinitely): https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/releases/download/v0.3.4/OpenRCT2-0.3.4-macos-x86-64.zip

Welcome @rcthelp! Or perhaps I should say: welcome back. You’re not exactly new to the RCT community, after all

Cannot Play on Dell Laptop
Gymnasiast replied to CaveExplorer's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
You will have to provide more info: What operating system? Windows 8, 10, 11? Is your OS 32-bit or 64-bit? Where did you download OpenRCT2 (give us the full link, please, not just the site)? -

Which version of OpenRCT2 are you on? You can find it in the About window. There is also a button there to copy the version string. -
How to disable "Charge for entry" during a saved game
Gymnasiast replied to WildeBernard's topic in General Discussion
You need this option in the Cheats menu. From your description, it seems like you’re looking in the Cheats window and not the menu.- 1 reply

Follow the steps here: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Android (Make sure you pay close attention when doing so, there is a gotcha.)

Crashing When Placing Path on Park Entrance!
Gymnasiast replied to dBish's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
You were not the only one with this crash, as there is another one reported here: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/15803 I was not able to reproduce your issue, can you determine a set of steps to trigger the crash? -
Charging for both rides and park entrance
Gymnasiast replied to RainingMetal's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
It became a normal scenario option a few years ago. Enable the cheats menu, then click the golden shovel -> Scenario Options -> Third tab -> Change the option. -
Compact Coaster missing from roller coasters
Gymnasiast replied to Lofthouse29's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
Their question has already been answered here: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/15748 Long story short: not a bug.
