  1. The Mac version of RCT Classic is a bit different from the Windows version. Can you right-click the RCT Classic application -> ‘Show package contents’ and then navigate through the folders until you find one called ‘Assets’. Copy this folder somewhere. For example, create /Users/Rob/Downloads/RCTC and copy Assets to there as a subfolder. Then start OpenRCT2 and give it the ‘/Users/Rob/Downloads/RCTC’ path.
  2. It sounds like linking to RCT Deluxe didn’t go properly. Let’s check that first. Can you open the Forest Frontiers scenario, open the Land dialog, click the ‘land edge’ dropdown and take a screenshot of that?
  3. ExCrafty’s answer is correct. The background of it is that the Wooden Roller Coaster in RCT1 has a much shallower bank, a different colour scheme and a lot fewer pieces. Apart from the vertical loop, it is more reminiscent of the older-style wooden roller coasters as well. If you build them side-by-side, you should see the difference. We implemented this in order to make import from RCT1 scenarios and saves more accurate. Forest Frontiers is an RCT1 scenario, while Crazy Castle is an RCT2 scenario, so that’s why you ran into this.
  4. Ah, I see. This will eventually be possible using asset packs. There is unfortunately no timescale for it, though.
  5. This message appears when the design was created with a type of train that is not available in the scenario you’re playing. This is not a big problem, as it will just use one that _is_ available instead, but this train may behave a little bit differently. It may be lighter or heavier, which may affect how fast it goes, and whether it even makes a hill or not. In the case of the u(...) designs, those are all from RCT1 and so use RCT1 vehicles. You’re probably playing a scenario that wasn’t from RCT1, so this is expected and nothing to worry about.
  6. What do you mean, exactly?
  7. The difference is that the installer build comes with an installer, and portable does not. There isn’t anything more to it. The fact that following Dubaifreak’s advice worked out is more of a happy incident, so to say.
  8. You’re not looking in the right folder. Start up OpenRCT2, click the red toolbox in the title screen -> Open custom content folder. Now you can navigate to the `plugin` subfolder and put your plugins there.
  9. If you want us to troubleshoot, we’ll need to know your distro and version. Also, can you run the game from the command line? It often prints out information there. Please don’t comment if you don’t understand the problem. I appreciate the effort to help, but it’s only adding confusion.
  10. For anyone else having this problem: if the game says you’re missing RCT2 or RCT1 objects, it means you need to reinstall OpenRCT2, due to the way the object system works.
  11. I don’t think there is any need to apologise here, ExCrafty, but it’s nice you want to keep things civil. @jfox21117: There is no need for passive-aggressive replies to someone who wants to help you solve your problem. I feel like I shouldn’t have to explain that. If you want your problem solved, cut that attitude and provide sufficient information: screenshots, exact steps and track design you tried, stuff like that.
  12. All the missing content appears to be WW/TT, so I expect that these are not installed correctly. I suggest you reinstall RCT2 and both expansions, which should fix it.
  13. We have identified the possible cause. Could you download and install the test build here: https://github.com/Gymnasiast/OpenRCT2/actions/runs/10646310726/artifacts/1877947454 Note that this requires you to be logged into GitHub, or else you’ll get a 404 error.
  14. You think it’s ridiculous that you need RCT1 in order to use RCT1 features? I’d try and explain it to you, but where I live you need some specific diplomas for that.
  15. What version of OpenRCT2 are you on? And are you using release or develop builds?
  16. They have proper slopes. You either didn’t select the correct ones, or you don’t have RCT1 linked, which is required as it needs the graphics. The brick side is present, so you must have overlooked it. Additionally, there is no need to use cheats, they are automatically used when loading RCT1 scenarios and saves. Only if you want to add them to an already existing save - which is cheating.
  17. It looks like you are missing some files from RCT2. What edition of RCT2 do you have (CD, Steam, GOG, ...)?
  18. 2017.
  19. You need to leave out the "start" bit, i.e. cd C:\Program Files\OpenRCT2 openrct2.com
  20. Please go to the OpenRCT2 folder in Program Files and open the `openrct2.com` executable there. It should print some output to a CMD window. (If it disappears too quickly, you need to open a CMD window yourself and execute `openrct2.com` in there.)
  21. Do you have the CD edition of RCT1? It looks like you may have done a minimum install of it, which does not copy the scenarios.
  22. If you are still struggling with this: can you elaborate more on what you tried and what errors you got?
  23. You can add any style you want using the Object Selection window. The only thing that has changed is that OpenRCT2 no longer automatically adds new styles to existing parks.
  24. You know you can just build path over the railway tracks, right? It doesn’t require any cheats and will use proper graphics.
  25. Until recently, clients were given 7 seconds to do everything, which was too short. In v0.4.13, we increased this timeout to 20 seconds, as well as making object load faster. Could you upgrade to v04.13 and test again?
