Feel free to make a start. The GP4 had a size of 148x148 tiles. I'd like to start off the same like last time, having a mild beginning, and rough area far away from the entrance.

While those landscapes do look good, I'd like to keep the amount of water to a minimum this time. In the past few group parks, the water areas have always been hard to build on, and in the end it's basically just an area cramped with different rides, not making it a single theme. The parks where we didn't start off with water (Group Park 2 and 3) were in my opinion the easiest to work with.

I haven't navigated file locations on here enough to know exactly where to look/search for what I want.. I've never seen GP2, GP3 or GP4. And to be honest when I take to long to find what I want, it makes me sad .. :)

@Broxzier ... @imlegos why do random files like the one attached open with no tools/options, drop down menus etc? ... cant even close the file without bailing out of OpenRCT... doesn't happen often but it happens. been wanting that answer for a while..

Never mind.. question answered (I think).  I had multiple (2) instances of program running. Although I was able to open other files and still get all access to functions with multiple instances, so I still asking the question if there is other possibilities. FYI - I was still able to access the Console and hide it.

CRITIQUE TIME:

pic 1 - Original map with scenery stripped.

pic 2 - simple mountain location

pic 3 - mountains location (water fall(s) to dry river - river bed to remain dry?), dry river bed?, sand/dunes area? Arial map

pic 4 - Entrance location

pic 5&6 - Height profiles

Edited:

pic 7 - What I'm thinking?

pic 8 - Extended sand area?

Taking a break for a bit. All areas(pics) are prelim and separate files. So at this point ALL feedback is WELCOME... you can't hurt my feelings so whats on your mind.

Thanks

@Broxzier and ALL OTHERS TOO

im not a fan of multi-area landscapes. But i can work with it, if i have to.

For the mountain area: The ridge needs erosion. Something like this:

even something like wind can have a big impact on stone.

Also:

some sort of flow needs to be added on the mountains (dont know how to translate it correctly..).

see those vains? it's dirt washed away by rain. The best way to add those is to use bushes to get a more detailled look.

If you are unsure, i could add it as soon as you are finished.

Agreed. Always easier to add the erosion and flow than to go through the work and it gets rejected

why should anyone reject your work? :D

It looks good. I also said, im not fan of multy-areas (desert, grass, mountains) but this would never be a reason to reject this map.

but my last question remains:

how do we decide, what scenary and attractions we choose? Its not possible to use all at once.

@Foxy

LOL... have no fear... I reject my own stuff all the time ... usually after 5-6 hours of 'what started out good'but then I'll over build.. I'm sure most have done it too .. I'm uploading in a few minutes, after I finish my glass of wine.

idk...I would guess just load what you want to use, then unload before you pass off the file and the pieces you use will stay in misc. (?)

My trees! O.o:(It's okay

I agree with Wuis. The sandy area shouldn't be next to the lake. I dislike the water in the mountain area, we're going to start this park with just one water area, which will be the lake. The lake can be made bigger if you think there isn't enough water yet.

@Broxzier @Wuis the forest fire was intense, needed a lil bit more water to put it out...lol. I agree with your thoughts though.. I just defined the areas to get various trains of thought flowing moving forward. Typically I like to hand draw the map schematics, get feed back, then just claim an area that fits your style to produce and run with it. Feedback is always a plus. :D

I'd like to maybe see a bit of a parking lot this time, with a big fancy entrance. Thoughts?

I also think the entrance should be moved closer to the lake, and the desert should be removed completely, with less jagged mountains.

I recently developed a working parking lot/drop off area. I used mouse (flat track design of any will work) But cars actually drive through parking with a drop zone close to entrance of park. So when cars approached drop zone I placed brakes to halt vehicle, then they move on. Invisible track and zero clearance was used to complete the illusion. Now I'm in the process designing a set of car types to roam the track to complete the effect... Next step(I used) is to use blocking scenery to (hide) the fact that peeps are entering the park from the cars when actually they are not.

The area on the bottom-left of the screenshot is already quite flat, I think it will be easier to build the entrance there. I do love the idea of having a parking lot! I think the mountain area can be stretched a little bit bigger, it now fits 3 large rides at most.

@Broxzier I claimed to apply some suggestions and fix some of my stuff too.... Agree on the entrance for sure, I'm not going to address the entrance because you and others are better at that than me. And @YoloSweggLord nice smoothing, I may only open a few areas for access through the terrain.

@Broxzier Agreed on mountain stretching. Stretch green or brown mountains or both?
