    Mount Coasters

    To me the least realistic official scenario is BYOSFP (RCT2), which is pretty much what your park looks like. I honestly can't think of anything less realistic in RCT1 (where it is not part of the challenge), though I have seen them all. Edit: octagon park was pretty bad right? Keep in mind that people (most likely) can't raise the land any further, decreasing the creative abilities. Also remember RCT2 already has 2 coaster-fest scenario's, extreme heights for free build coasters and gravity gardens for those looking for a coaster building challenge.

    Perhaps an inner and outer monorail would work well too. I can't yet like the idea of two monorails meeting at the center (no real theme park does that right? even in group park 2 that plan failed). The distance between the two 'finished' stations is perfect for a complete loop through the entire park. That new station could easily be converted to a support structure (how about a different support type/theme for each quarter?) or something else to make it fit that section of the park. Guests near Sherwood Heights can't get to Rusty Road and Mountain Splash. Not sure how to fix that, might resolve itself in the future...

    I'll fix the lift in my next turn. At least I know what the cause is (and if I can't fix it, I'll close it until the AI understands what's going on). I'd say the monorail station could be another 30-60 tiles further away, or we might end up with an obsolete station like in the previous park.

  5. I've not seen this issue yet on github, so feel free to make one. I haven't seen it happen yet as I've never used the day/night cycle.

    @Dan You'll reach the 48 hour limit in about 42 minutes. Don't miss it or Wuis has all the rights to start working on the park before you post here and your changes might not be included.
  7. The new launcher works, but it soesn't have the 'ask before update' option. Shouldn't cause too much trouble if it isn't as unstable as the old one with bad internet. I can still run RCT1 made for win 95/98. Installers have an option for all kinds of compatibility modes too. But still, it sometimes just fails. Is it possible to manually install the missing files without updating / installing VS? I've done that for some games too that wanted a file that was removed after winXP.

    Just the ones heading for sky tower refuse to enter below. Guests that randomly stumble upon the lower entrance enter there like expected.
  10. 1. Check if the correct ports are open (idk exactly how to do that, but it has been posted before). If the given port is closed, find a way to open it (this depends on your network router). 2. Make sure you 'advertise' the server so it shows up in the public server list.
  11. The openrct.net website doesn't exist anymore. The launcher will get an update sometime to connect to this website. When? I don't know.
  12. If a question is frequently asked, it means the game wasn't clear enough. A warning in the game would be better than posting it here (the same thing happened when people asked how to set up the launcher properly).
  13. Names are randomly assigned using the guest ID. Since the guest ID remains the same over the entire game, names won't have changed if you turn real names back on.
  14. There's no need for forum rules now. As long as they're not listed, common sense rules apply. Listing them makes it harder to act against things that are not explicitly listed. Forum rules are only needed if common sense can't hold it anymore.
  15. No. The expansion packs are not free so we will never give them away for free. If you need a better explanation, use the search functionality on the forum, many others have already asked for the expansion packs.
  16. I highly recommend removing on of the inversions from the great 8, that should get the exitement above 10. I like the grey/orange and Rats Nest, but I don't see any use in other parks for the bigger rides.

  18. The ride ratings were halved on that ride because it didn't have a big drop. Add a slightly bigger drop at the end and the intensity will skyrocket (which will decrease the exitement by more than 50%). Looking at this, I think the intensity penalty should be applied before the max drop height penalty.

The bad ratings are explained on the wiki https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Ride-rating-calculation: "For lateral Gs above 2.8, a value of 3.75 is added to the intensity, and 2 is added to the nausea. If the lateral Gs also exceed 3.1, the excitement rating is halved, and a further 8.5 is added to the intensity, and 4 is added to the nausea." Keep the lateral Gs below 2.8 at all costs, the lateral Gs on your coaster are 3.35, which means it goes way too fast through sharp turns. The dinghy build window showing up instead of the coaster is a known bug (not sure if it's on github too, but I've seen it somewhere).

    Claiming... It seems mechanics have some trouble fixing rides, I'll see what I can do against that. Guests heading for the sky tower somehow prefer to go to the upper station (they won't enter the lower queue even when walking in front of it) and end up walking endlessly at the bottom of the tower. Any idea how to fix that?
  23. You can find your game version on the main menu in the lower left corner. The .td? bug has already been fixed (even in the stable version), so you are on an outdated version.
  24. ANNOUNCEMENT: This contest will end as soon as april is over. Everyone can submit at most one (more) coaster in the next week. Any entries after 30th april 23:59 forum time will be ignored.
  25. Wouldn't it be better to say that disabling clearance checks is allowed for visible scenery, but not for coaster tracks and hidden scenery (and thus stacking is not allowed)? Is using terrain as scenery allowed?
