Claiming very quickly to fix damage caused to the little fire tower I built.

    Appreciate the detailed answers.

I'm concerned about reliable game saves (even got these things backed up on google drive) so I'll stay on stable for now. I think these files are like the heart of RCT in general. We must keep them heathy.

I wouldn't really worry about corrupt files.  I've never seen it happen ever before.

I know of that cheat but using it doesn't really make sense in "story mode". You're trying to beat a scenario according to some rule-set. Manually enforcing rules that clearly make more sense is neither easy nor fun.

For example flaw no. 1 makes vanilla RCT2 scenarios like Botany Breakers and Dustry Greens extremely easy (I beat the latter in 2 months, literally, I can send the savegame if you want).

If I'd have to self-enforce a rule that doesn't allow me to overprice rides, I'd have to use some external calculator constantly. That makes the game a lot less immersive. And of course that doesn't just apply to me.

Sure, there are many people who like to sandbox and build beautiful parks and rides. But there's probably also people who like to be challenged by trying to complete scenario objectives without cheating.

Flaws no. 2 and 3 are completely impossible to fix by self-imposing rules by the way. There's no cheat/workaround at all.

I addressed points 1 and 2 in a test patch which I attached.

    Ride Values.patch

You should post this on the GitHub site, as well!  :D

    New Jobs

A janitor should be a job. What their use can be is repairing any broken damages across the park and also have the ability to empty litter bins.

A gardener should be a job. They could just be used to cut the grass (taking away the stress of having to assign handymen to it).

    Feature Suggestions

Patrol areas should be made easier to set. Add the ability to allow us to type the amount of squares we want them to cover.

Handymen already can empty litter bins and a future update will include the ability for them to repair path objects like benches and lights.

You can just assign handymen with just the job of cutting grass.

  6. @SpiffyJack  Your lack of a path to your part of the park is causing pathing issues, as peeps don't take into account transport rides when trying to figure out how to get somewhere (except if they're trying to get out of the park).

@giraty Please add a path to fix this problem.  Thanks!  :)

Thanks guys you've helped me a lot. Now That you answered that question I have just one more question, or 2 😂

Would RCT2 Triple Thrill pack be considered "Vannila" because it does have the 2 expansion packs??

And when you play OpenRCT is it like a separate thing from RCT2 with disk?? I read that RCT could possibly transfer to OpenRCT. That should be all of My questions, for now haha. Once I get this computer I can share my stuff, but I can't help with the tech stuff..

Also, I'm sure somebody has someway to make and invisible entrance and exit hut!! I've never gotten that one to work

Yes, the Triple Thrill Pack is considered vanilla.

If you have both RCT2 and OpenRCT2 on your computer, you don't have to use the disk.  Here is a list of the exact required files from RCT2: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Required-RCT2-files

OpenRCT2 has invisible entrance huts- it's in the ride options for every ride.

There is a HUGE selection of objects in this VERY LARGE file:

If you prefer to browse, the archive.org version of the old RCTMart site has a lot of downloads:

And why should i upload them here? Its easier for me to let my webserver automaticly put a screenshot together and store them in a download list. Or is it against a rules of openRCT2?

It keeps all the copies in one place.

  9. I agree- the custom signs should be removed in favor of custom scenery that can be used elsewhere in the park.   The slide is awesome, through- too bad the ratings can't be permanently manually adjusted right now to fit the RL excitement and intensity factor on it...

@cascadia I can make that one easily too, but I don't see how it would really fit in. You'd basically get two small sideways rectangles that way.

If you need to extend a full size two tile wall slightly but not tall enough to warrant using the half wall, the 1/4 wall would be very useful.

I have no idea what you mean by that, so I'm just gonna continue whatever I was planning on making.

I think he wants you to make half and 1/4 walls and telling you how many tiles they should be sized to look good in the theme parks.

IIRC, that demo does contain all the assets (though I've not been through the whole list to check).  It's time limited, but that won't apply if you use it with OpenRCT2. The demo linked on the Github page is missing objects, but I think that's a different demo.

Ah.  Always thought they were the same demo.

    Hey,

the easiest way for Mac Users is to use the zipped Demo. Installing with the GOG or Steam Files is much more difficult and complicated.

You can download the Demo here (take the ZIP Version):

    https://openrct2.org/download-demo

Unzip the Files in a Folder of your choice and point to that folder, when Open RCT 2 asks.

    Have fun with the game.

    Fireball2k

The zipped demo isn't the full game, through.

    @Wuis  @YoloSweggLord

Built a boardwalk with a shopping arcade and aquarium.  Also started work on the water runway and terminal for the seaplane tour of the park (the track will be made invisible once the ride is complete, which I will not do until the park is mostly complete, to avoid putting height limits on people).

Also, some extra bonus screenshots of the park with lighting effects at night (you can turn this on in options if you have the latest update):

    parktest1.png.2d3fe6e3aa374ffc0e89dce539269f67.png

    parktest2.png.2909ca99dfc6cb26878954ea9238c3af.png

    parktest3.png.2866b671df3bf9fd5439280ae39e6679.png

    parktest4.png.72bb7e7a903d38cefb11435f4d5dfb09.png

It's still experimental, so there's one angle where the lighting doesn't work for some reason, and you have to turn on thunderstorms using cheats to get the best effects.  For some reason, the game's screenshot function won't show the lighting either, so I had to manually screenshot all of these park bonus images for it to work at all.

    @SpiffyJack

I have tried to merge the track... bad idea. Dont try this, if you havn't saved your park.

The idea behind this was, to create a switch, that connects backwards to the main track (so that the car wont change the track. As you see, the game crashed as i attamped to save the layout). I guess, track merging and saveing is not a good idea in general. Or maybe i shouldn't have merged the additional tracksection backwards at both ends... Maybe there is some sort of exploit, maybe there isn't. It needs to be tested a bit further :)

at least, the game found something different... :D

You should report this to GitHub, so the developers can fix all of this.
