I Really want to install a park, but when i click it, it says "Cannot Load File" Please Help!

Are you trying to open the park file directly from your save folder in Windows or are you trying to open it from inside ORCT2?  Because the former method won't work- you have to put the file into the saves or scenario folder per imlegos' post, and then open ORCT2 and use load saves (for .SV6) or New Game (for .SC6) to open it.

Anyway a minor bug that I discovered is with money, if you max out the amount of money you have, it goes into maximum debt! So you go from having max cash to max debt.

That's a known bug- it's from the original game, but OpenRCT2 itself, so it will have to wait until all the source code is reverse- engineered.

The last build that worked for me with no issue was 0.0.5.0 build 7b421c8, which was 4 days ago. I don't know why the later builds since then were buggy and I hope this gets fixed too.

Make sure to post the report (PLUS THE DUMP FILE) on the project's GitHub page, not here.  They'll be able to help you better there.

In the mean time, have you tried going into the ObjData folder in the RCT2 (NOT OpenRCT2) and deleting the most recent DAT files (sort by date to find them)?  It looks like the issue is with corrupt DAT files for custom rides and scenery, and the fix works for most people.

I tried that and it didn't work. Even a full uninstall and reinstall and deletion of ALL folders and files related to both games didnt work until i rolled back to a previous openrct build...was kind of strange.

Did you go into the actual RCT2 folder for rides and scenery itself and delete the most recent DAT files (sort by date to find them)?  They have a habit of sticking around even after full uninstalls.

IntelOrca linked the following Version for this error on GitHub:  https://openrct2.org/downloads/develop/97fedab
    With this, OpenRCT2 works.

I have one further, small question which probably doesn't need it's own thread:
Can i use saved games in OpenRCT2 without restriction in the original RCT2? And how about vice versa?
I just tried to load an OpenRCT2 save in RCT2, which worked. I'm wondering, if this works 100%, or if certain elements may be missing.

It works 100% most of the time.  A few things (such as features labeled OpenRCT2 only when you turn them on on rides) won't work in or will crash RCT2.

Yes, but he was only there as a consultant (Particularly for RCT3, as he has mentioned that he was not working with RCTW as soon as his name was spotted on the reveal trailer). And judging by the name, it would be referring to how Chris developed the series, specifically, 1&2

That's exactly what I'm saying- he's only a consultant and licensing his name for the ride.

There's signs in front of it read "Ride Your Custom Coaster"

However, this feature was added by Frontier and Atari....

Like the Rollercoaster Tycoon name itself for later games, Chris Sawyer is just licensing his name out and providing a consultant role, not designing the ride itself. ;)

Remove unhappy/leaving guests - good idea, I can imagine this is helpful when guests got stuck somewhere and take forever to leave.

Set time - Definitely. I don't know if this will cause issues with ride ages though.

Park Value and ride ratings - No. I think this is wrong, even as a cheat. They are merely there to let you know how good your park or ride is, they do not have an impact on the game itself. I know the same thing can be said about park rating, for which there is a cheat already. The only reason for having this cheat is to reach the park's objective, but there's also this button that lets you win a scenario instantly.

I always thought that ride ratings directly affected how many guests got on them, and therefore, impact the game itself...

I have gone through every file in the objdata folder comparing to the ones on my laptop. (OpenRCT2 works on there.) The files were exactly the same, and it still doesn't work... I have no clue what to do now....

Try reporting the bug on GitHub and attaching the dump file there.  The devs will be able to help you much more there.

  10. Random fact: Despite having over 47,392 customers, Water Rush is not a favorite ride of any guest.  At all.  Other rides that suffer from this are Buckriders, Ivy Cup, Monkey Madness, and Chris Sawyer's RCT Experience,.

  11. Only one issue so far: some areas aren't covered by handymen yet.  Other then that, everything seems fine! :)

Also, if we ever need extra slots for rides because we hit the ride limit, there are a bunch of stalls closed due to pathing issues in Reddington Station that we can delete if needed (RedScope53 prefers to keep them, so this is a last resort).

Also, calling the next person since Wuis didn't call them yet:

    Claimed
    Queue: @Yimmy , RedScope53, Dan, Philmon11, Broxzier, ziscor, jensj12, Wuis
    Missed: @imlegos , @WobblyRails , @wilburg22

  12. You might want to file a bug report on Github for this.  Make sure you attach the dump file generated by the game.

Also, did you delete the OpenRCT folder (the one in which all of your saves and settings are stored)?  It might be that an issue with a file in there might be causing the problem...

Also, I cannot open the park. In addition, it killed my game. I cannot open Open RCT anymore, since it crashes on startup.

I'm pretty sure that's actually a bug- check Github and the bugs forum- there's been a bunch of crashes reported by people installing new scenery from a variety of sources.  To fix, try deleting all new custom scenery and DAT files that were installed on the day you opened that park file.

Can someone tell me what files I need to delete? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled RCT2. Haven't done that to OpenRCT2 yet.

Delete all the custom rides and scenery DATs that were installed on the day you accessed the server that caused the issue.

YAY! :D Thank you so much Cascadia! I'd hug you if I weren't shackled by the bounds of text based interaction. :P

I did exactly as you said, found the files in the ObjectData folder and got rid of all of them marked for the most recent date and hey presto, we're back in business!

and I believe it was the same server, I remember thinking about general Zod because of the name.

Seriously though, thank you very much for helping me out,you brought a happy gleeful smile to this grim northern git ;)

    You're welcome!  :D
