  1. Those two are totally different games. It would require someone to add code for animals, their behaviour, exhibits, foliage, zookeepers and all other things into the OpenRCT2 engine, not to mention stuff like graphics. You’re looking at a few years work, and that’s assuming a full time job - all the people who work on OpenRCT2 are volunteers who have to squeeze it all into their spare time.
  2. Hm, so you must have a 64-bit operating system, then. Please install the 64-bit version of OpenRCT2, that should help. Any reason why you use the 32-bit version, by the way?
  3. It means the game is running out of memory. Are you running the 32-bit or 64-bit version?
  4. We’ll need a bit more information about your system and RCT2 install. From your description, you seem to be on macOS, but which version are you running? And where did you buy RollerCoaster Tycoon 2?
  5. Thanks, ExCrafty! Yes, it’s a labour-intensive task, most of my spare time goes into OpenRCT2 and I have way more things I’d like to work on than I have time or energy. I understand that people that excited and want more stuff. This is natural, and frankly, I’d rather deal with someone enthusiastic who just goes a bit overboard than with people who are complaining or even demanding. It’s just that everyone needs to keep in mind that we have limited time and energy. So thanks for reminding everyone. 👍
  6. Hm, what is your question, precisely?
  7. This is necroposting, please don’t post tangentially related questions in a six year old topic. Anyway, most of the changes were probably for realism. The Junior Coaster is a kiddie model from Zierer, the Mini Roller Coaster a compact roller coaster type from Schwarzkopf. RCT1 simply put them together to form a weird hybrid. Same for ride modes: the Inverted RC does not have powered launch in real life, while it had that mode in RCT1.
  8. The idea of open source, and especially the plug-in system, is that you could make it yourself. Just complaining it doesn’t exist is not going to make it appear. OpenRCT2 contains ways to override a ride’s excitement, intensity and nausea, though. You can set these via the in-game console, and a plug-in can also use these. Make sure you are on a recent develop build for this.
  9. The recordings cannot, but we already knew that. We are working on making our own recordings, as the organ used currently resides in The Netherlands. The pieces played are all out of copyright, so once we have a recording we are allowed to use, nothing else stands in our way.
  10. I provided the explanation, either take it or leave it. I don’t have time for a long big ramble about how MS is evil or how we know nothing about security and are bad people for not offering the feature you think you deserve (like you did before when a certain hard-to-maintain feature was removed), or downvoting my answers just because I refuse to submit to your demands.
  11. That’s the wrong folder, you need to select the one right above it.
  12. Not entirely sure about that tone. You seem overly confident, especially since some things you said are simply not true. The Infogrames Interactive folder is only read by OpenRCT2 for its assets, and never written to. Back in the Windows 9x days, programs happily wrote to Program Files, but this has now been closed off for a very good reason. So no, it’s not at all "logical and obvious". It would require OpenRCT2 to run as admin (dangerous, and for no good reason), or to blow the permissions of those folder wide open. Also, computers can have multiple users, which is another reason why it’s useful to have the files you created in your own user folders. Additionally, you can simply move your Documents folder to another hard drive using drag and drop, and Windows will direct programs (including OpenRCT2) to there. This is a much easier solution than to ignore the folder altogether and try and work against the OS.
  13. No worries, I know you well enough by now. I was just pointing it was nothing out of the ordinary.
  14. You already posted this 2 days earlier, why? It’s not going to get the bug fixed earlier. Can you please be a bit more patient?
  15. Please use the search function next time, there was already a topic for it.
  16. And I was on holiday. Also, 8 days isn’t a lot on these forums, it usually takes longer.
  17. In case it wasn’t clear, this is a limitation of the TD6 file format, it is not a bug, as the message clearly states. It will be solved eventually, when we introduce a track design format of our own. And since this issue has attracted mostly off-topic replies, I’m closing this.
  18. @DubaifreakDoesn’t change the fact that you posted “Well that sucks!” and nothing more. And that posting videos that show the exact same error do not provide any more information. Or that pulling a big mouth against the people who are offering up their spare time to help people like you for free is a fucking stupid thing to do. Don’t do it again.
  19. Why are you posting this completely useless reply on something which isn’t even your issue?
  20. I would check the permission settings. Especially stuff like “Full Disk Access”.
  21. Hm, unfair? She made it to 96, way above the average human lifespan, and in good health too. It’s about the best one can hope for.
  22. This sounds like this bug: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/17533 This fix will make its way into v0.4.2, or you could use a development build.
  23. The essence of the game was most definitely still on the table when we added that. It’s just that console command are mostly treated as cheats. There is a flag to freeze the ratings of a ride. There are use cases for it, most prominently fixing up ride rating of hacked rides, which can be quite off the scale. This flag can be set by a plug-in. The console command was written before the flag was added, maybe it should be modified to set it as well. As for stuff like “god-mode” and other stuff that might be controversial with some players: this is one of the reasons we added the plug-in system. It allows users to experiment with features that have a more niche appeal and easily change stuff themselves, without affecting all other users. Plug-ins are written in JavaScript, which keeps the threshold to make your own low.
