  1. No idea if this is on a Mac, but if PC, then in the settings it sounds like you have "use system file manager" (or wording similar) checked.
  2. Have you got grid lines showing ? If not, then turning that feature on will allow you to count them yourself.
  3. Excellent suggestion. The "Guests are getting lost or stuck" is one of the more annoying messages. As you say, it's a relatively short distance. And if you look at what the guests are thinking, you get the usual "Can't find (insert ride here)". I thought I'd seen or heard somewhere that it was four minutes, like ride times, and graph lengths.
  4. Thanks for the response, but you come across as a bit condescending in your first comment. I'm not a person who is familiar with the intricacies of how the graphics work. And since as far as I know, there's no mention anywhere about what's needed to be enabled to get things to look more "normal" then it's not intuitive. All I was doing was trying to help with what I saw as a possible error, not jumping up and down because things aren't perfect. Again, thanks for the response.
  5. Gday All, Thought I'd have a quick look at what new elements were added to the Giga Coaster. They flow really well .... however, there looks to be a small problem with how the multi-car trains handle the vertical track pieces. Whether they're straight vertical or twisted, the train slits into individual cars and the cars appear only attached to the track at one end. Like I said, the trains flow along the pieces cleanly, but disjointed visually.
  6. If "Sandbox" mode is on, then you can do almost anything.
  7. That sounds like somewhere along the line the box to open your file explorer has been checked. It's an option in the "Options" stuff. I don't specifically remember where though, sorry. The game gives you the option of using the in-game file manager or your operating systems file explorer.
  8. Are you playing the scenarios or your own park ? Do you have all the objects you want to use "ticked" in the Objects Selection window ? Do you have cheats enabled ? Scenarios don't add other objects even if you have every object ever made correctly installed on your computer. The only stuff that will show up is stuff that is flagged for that scenario. If you want more, then you need cheats enabled and to add stuff from the Objects Selection window. I apologise if I seem to be being rude, that's not my intent.
  9. Not a "problem", "bug", or "Issue" but you can call it "Feedback". I have noticed that the lighting works, even if it does dramatically reduce frame rates. BUT, lights DO NOT come on at all underground. That's shops, stalls, rides, or paths. If you're underground, you're in the dark .... always.
  10. Had a thought while reading your post. Does RCT2 run on your external drive ? In the past I've found that many games and apps don't work or work properly when installed on a drive not on the pc/laptop. External drive often get "seen" as a removeable drive. For me, this has meant the several things couldn't be installed on either a USB stick or an external drive, or my NAS. This is just a thought. I'm not an IT person or even close to being up-to-date with hardware or software.
  11. I haven't found an upper limit as yet. I have occasionally gotten up to 300-400+ staff.
  12. I have a similar path to RCT2, but for me OpenRCT2 is a folder on the root of the same drive. OpenRCT2 also installs much of the core files on your C:\ drive. For me the path is -- C:\Users\User\Documents\OpenRCT2 I hope this helps.
  13. Gday, As far as I've found, you can still only have two guest spawn points (I may be wrong). Maps can be 999x999, and you can unlink the X and Y so you can have a rectangular map area instead of just square. It appears that you can select pretty much every object and group you have. BUT .... there's no tool I know of that will let you select it all at once, you still need to do it individually. If I remember right, the limits are pretty much 65,535 objects. I have noticed that at the bottom of the objects selection window you still see the limit for that tab, which is 25,550 for some of the scenery tabs, and that's accumulative not for each tab. I hope this helps.
  14. Gday, Personally, I find more than one tile wide paths don't get utilised like you'd hope. An option I use is to make either an "avenue" (path tile - space - path tile) and have a crossover every few tiles (I do 10 tiles then a crossover), or do one tile width path and put a row of fences then another row of path, then use the removal tool to remove the fences. You then have a similar aesthetic which gets better use. Both my methods are a bit more time consuming but they work for me. :) Obviously other people will have other opinions, and that's great. :)
  15. No TomOliver, that didn't help at all. Jenj12 answered my query much better. I found what I was after and now I can get frame rates into the 300-400 depending on zoom. Zoomed right out still drops it to under 60 though, but I'm not concerned as the whole "v-sync" thing is what was my problem. I haven't been up to date on computer stuff h/w or s/w for over 10 years now. So the acronym K.I.S.S. is the best way to get information across with me. If people don't know that acronym, it's --- Keep It Simple, Stupid.
  16. As far as I am aware, that's how OpenRCT2 has been made. Yes, all the "tools" in one place would make things a little easier, I agree. <sigh> Responses like that are the main reason I don't go on any "technical" types of forums or such. The "If you don't already know, then you shouldn't be using (insert thing here). It is/was a common occurrence years ago when I wanted to give Linux a try.
  17. Gday Hunter, You can pretty much change all visuals if you go through the options menus before loading a saved game or starting a new scenario. Look for the "Options" up in the top right corner (If I remember right). I'm not a fan of the RCT2 interface either, so I spent some time changing things to suit me. I don't have the game open atm, but there may even be a button/option to change to the RCT1 interface totally. Hope this helps.
  18. Thanks Jens, I'll look into that one. I've seen it as an thing but can't remember if it's in a game's setting or the GPU settings. Won't hurt to look everywhere. :)
  19. Ever since getting OpenRCT2 I've really had no serious issues running the game in any form it's been. I have always had the frame rate uncapped. It never goes above 60, yet I've seen screenshots and videos of other people with 100+. My system is about 3 years old, with an i5 processor and a 1060 6GB GPU. I have 16GB RAM and have very recently upgraded storage to an M.2 2TB directly on the M/B. I don't normally use OpenGL, but when I do it significantly DROPS the frame rate. I also run the game windowed as full screen still has issues of black screen if I need to alt-tab to something else. Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised if at least a portion of the trouble is Windows 11. I realise that some of it is due to the volume of stuff the game is trying to draw and animate at once, as this is more of a thing as my parks get more and more detailed. Information and suggestions are welcome, but please don't suggest alternate operating systems. I don't use Discord (personal dislike). This is the only place I come to for OpenRCT2 info.
  20. That seems a bit harsh, saying this site is dead. It is a pity that any devs don't look in here anymore. That suggests the project is dying, which I hope isn't the case. I do realise that ALL involved would have real lives and jobs that take up time, and that this project is done in whatever time they choose. And I for one, am glad that they have done all this. Just my opinion.
  21. Ignore this post. It's not relevant.
  22. Gday All, Hadn't noticed this before, but for a couple of rides I built recently after testing, I decided to add the photo section. Then of course the ride needs to be tested again to get stats. In one case the pre-photo stats were roughly 9+, 9+, 7+. After adding I got 7+, 10+, 8+. Took it out and tested again, this time the stats stayed the same as with the photo section. I tweaked the ride back out of the red, but that's not my point. Has anybody noticed this before ? Or is it something with how stats get calculated and there was some kind of error ?
  23. Just an observation, but you've made a wooden version of Whiplash from the RCT scenario Crumbly Wood.
