You can debate over all the version types you want regardless of how many formats are justifiable. But the end result stays the same. What ever format gets used is ultimately up to a moderator or an administrator as a rule and that's the format. My only input is to keep it simple.

Letters do work. But once you start with letters, you must continue with letters. ie: 5.14a must become 5.14b to designate file update. Now at this point, once you get to 'z' (keep in mind when using letters, 'O' and 'I' are never used) the double digit would become 'aa' - 'ab' - 'ac' etc... Technically a letter is used to add an addendum to a specific fix pertaining a specific item or area. Ie: You have 2 rides, one is 1.0 and two is 2.0 and both rides are combined in GP1.0. Changes get made to ride one thus 1.0 can become 1.0a if your using letters but the updated master file would still update to GP1.1. Most of the confusion between combining letters and numbers is when letters are used, there's always the question of 'is this the last letter?'... and yes to address to @imlegos typically the letters will range between A and F.. kind of like reading building codes or addendum in construction documents... There's going to be a pop qiz later :D

Regarding the file save name... from a personal standpoint adding a letter to the file name should only be used for your own progressive saves if that what you like to do. As far as a group file save name, the file posted when your done should follow the file you saved by one digit. Ie: you save 5.14, your upload file will be 5.15 regardless of how minor of major of a change. From my understanding it's much easier to track progress of a file and it's easier to revert back to a prior save file if a future file gets corrupted we can fall back. If the file gets to 5.99, then at that point a digit will be added such as 5.00.01 and the reason is you don't want 5.100 because the 3 digit extention will drop the .sv6 and it render the file as non compatible unless you add the .sv6. In summary, one digit per turn per person regardless of changes involved. Ie: pathing conflict change? Yes it's quick and easy, but the digit still expanded to show the file was indeed updated. Just my confusing two cents

ORCT2 failed to actually save file. It's a mystery
SpiffyJack replied to SpiffyJack's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
@YoloSweggLord.. Thanks..I searched all folders, all drives etc for a couple hours... I've never had a file completely vanish.. with my cad background I've never been shy when saving files.. it's almost like the file was saving to a non existent location some how. Even all virtual locations were empty. I've already started the rebuild with a secure folder and many saved as files.. so far all is back to normal. -
Believe it or not... it looks like that from both angles... yep it does look deceiving... the actual issue was based at the nose (of the dragon) to the photo tile

ORCT2 failed to actually save file. It's a mystery
SpiffyJack replied to SpiffyJack's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
@Broxzier.. No, it crashed after selecting themes and exiting object selector in the dev tools. I do not use auto save because I'm very conscious on my saves. So even though it may have been deleted, wouldn't the last force save still be available? If not, is it possible to go into the guts of my drive to recover the file with Windows console? -
I've been working on my dragon in my Train park for literally the last 8 hrs while saving quite often, (at least 100 saves) even up to the last couple minutes, then it crashed and failed to make a dump file, but now the last file save I have is dated yesterday 3/3/17 at 2:59 and no current file in in my system. How is it possible to not have any saves for the whole day? Does anybody possibly have a suggestion? I'm so bummed. Thanks.

@Wuis...Here's the real deal. I found 2 track peices out of wack... now these two are perfectly identical.. @imlegos guests have never been on these rides yet, so I'm curious, when testing are the peeps in the equation?

@cascadia @giraty The pathing you routed is great. @cascadia the bridge you built at the wash is great idea. Between the 2 paths you two built, you both really opened the park up to be accessed very well. Thanks

I actually had to open a path off Cascadia's Bar on the lake to get the peeps moving along... bunch of drunk peeps...lol
-
@Wuis... Thank you! I added a path on my file and the peeps went crazy
-
@cascadia Agreed. I was going to provide a simple path, but the length would have required more stalls, restrooms etc. Also the amount of path vs. Amount of peeps would have grown quite large. Another thought is to just close the north side until adequate services are provided. @giraty would be cool if you linked the areas.

It's still a work in progress, but I'm passing the torch 1. Added River Rapids ride, "Dry Gulch Run". 2. Added misc. Scenery at ride location. 3. Added walking path around waterfall. Can be modified by whom ever wants to. 4. Added chairlift to ride location from front of park. I used chairlift for easy re-roughting by anybody that needs to move it around or eliminate if different transportation is provided. 5. Added north end facilities at ride location. Again, this entire area is open to change by anybody who wants to modify it. 6. Fixed disconnected Restroom 1 entry so peeps can use it. @giraty Claimed: Queue: giraty, RedScope53, Jochem, TCE, Tune, Cascadia, Broxzier, Wuis, Foxy, SpiffyJack Missed: YoloSweggLord, jensj12, Philmon11, UTMAN The OpenRCT2 Group Park 5.11.sv6

I'm finding myself starting the development for the North side of the park to continue as self sustainable... also providing transportation as well ALL INPUT IS WELCOME

The bummer part of me claiming right now is that the fiber optic comm. Box that got hit by a car days ago still isn't operating yet and I have to use an out dated version of ORCT2 cause my launcher doesn't work... until Internet is functional again... but I have a plan... Edit: ALL good now.. love my Galaxy Note

Correct. I admitted not claiming the park when I did a test to get input on my bounderies, knowing it could have been all for nothing
