Broxzier
Get those micro parks going Jensj These coasters look nice. Two buildings that I made this week. Edited January 20, 2018 by Broxzier Fix formatting from forum change Link to comment
RuneLaenen
Wow, that first building is really nice :oI like the creative use of the roof-piece as a ramp to get to the door :p Link to comment
Broxzier
Thanks That's just the part I replaced actually I Didn't like how it looked because I wanted it to be more like a staircase, but there's no scenery like that. Now I used a Rapid Rivers track piece for it instead. Edited January 20, 2018 by Broxzier Fix formatting from forum change Link to comment
RuneLaenen
Awesome, that looks even better :pHowever, I don't understand how you do that... Like some people use tracks as scenery... How do you do that? You can't build a ride without a station? Right? Link to comment
Broxzier
You can, you can't just use it as a ride :P Link to comment
RuneLaenen
Oh I didn't know that :pAnd yeah... That's quite obvious :p Link to comment
Broxzier
BAM! Staircase! http://share.broxzier.com/2015-11-07_13-30-26.mp4 With some hex editing you can actually build a path first, make the path invisible, and then build the staircase at the same spot with clearance checks disabled. Guests will then be able to walk on it. Edit: There's also an invisible path as custom scenery, which would make this so much easier to make Edited January 20, 2018 by Broxzier Fix formatting from forum change 1 Link to comment
RuneLaenen
Cool :D Well wouldn't it be easier to have custom scenery with staircases? :p Link to comment
Broxzier
Probably, but I haven't seen any like this yet. Link to comment
DriverKaldie
This uses a ride which you can use for other purposes...When I do that, I don't even use hex-editing (I don't even know how to do that, because it's one of the things in RCT2 that I never mastered). I just build an invisible path and with zero-clearences I build the scenery for steps. That gives the same result :) Link to comment
Broxzier
It's just one ride for the stairs that you can use it throughout the entire park, you don't necessarily have to build a new one for every single stair. What scenery would you use to build steps? Link to comment
Broxzier
Turns out someone just made a feature that got added today that will make hex editing not even needed anymore! https://www.reddit.com/r/rct/comments/3rvtkh/openrct2_hiding_rollercoaster_track/ With this you can create the exact same stairs. RuneLaenen
Yes indeed :) But there's something wrong with the buildserver I think, since the last build is from yesterday evening... i'm not controlling the build server so I've got to wait untill pfckrutonium comes online :( Link to comment
jensj12
Building those micro parks is quite challenging, but it's so much fun No scenery this time, nor splitting the park in 4 sections, just 5 coasters (and all entrances/exits are connected). SnowMew
I like the idea of micro parks. Kinda interested in holding a fun little competition on it but, I'm not sure how to even structure it.Anyway I'm struggling to think of anything to make but, I don't know give it a few days and I might figure out something. RuneLaenen
Wowza, that's quite the puzzle :p Link to comment
tachi
Broxier, there's some great ideas in those buildings, especially using the short pipe sections as planters. :) And after loading and poking around Peanut's park, I now have access to all the paths that were in his park, including invisible paths, so hex editing isn't really needed anymore for this. :) Link to comment
Broxzier
Haha jensj, that look insane! Link to comment
Broxzier
Today I continued working on the park that I posted earlier. The small rides will be removed or replaced, they are just there because otherwise guests were complaining too much. I'm quite happy with how it looks so far. Para
That park looks really cool so far. Its interesting to see how creative everyone can be while making their rides and parks. Are you still working on it? I wanted a gigantic park without super annoying terrain or restrictions, and a difficult/long term goal. so I made this scenario/map about two months ago. Land is super cheap to buy ($5), but loan interest is fairly high (20%) to add faux difficulty. Originally I wanted to work on it with some people (possibly over LAN since the multiplayer reliablity situation) and make different themed sections but I just ended up playing it single player and not putting nearly as much time into the ascetics and overall theme of the park but it was still a lot of fun. I can upload the files or something if anyone wants to screw around on the map or do whatever to the scenario settings. Edited December 28, 2015 by Para Link to comment

Philmon11
@Broxzier can you share your original micropark file? It'd be cool to play on. Link to comment
jensj12
I use this one for all my micro parks, made it myself using the in-game scenario editor. Park size is 21x21. I suppose we should create a 'Micropark showcase' thread somewhere to showcase all micro-parks. Once it's finished you aren't really working on it anymore Micro Sandbox.sc6 Edited January 30, 2016 by jensj12 1 Link to comment
