CharlieP Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Is there a way to add a scenery dat while playing a game. I know you can save a game and use ParkDat to add the dat, then save the game and continue, HOWEVER all the rides imediately become avaliable and that spoils the research.
imlegos Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Wait for everything to become unlocked. Adding objects, even if not in the scenario normally, kinda ruins the point.
CharlieP Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 The point is I forgot to put in a scenery dat which is vital to the scenery around a coaster I designed and saved specifically to place in the park. Also there is no scenery research being done as all the scenery groups are already loaded.
janisozaur Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Can't you use object selection window for that?
KKLD Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I do this all the time. Simply open the console while in your multi player game and type 'open object_selection' and press enter. Select/deselect the rides/scenery you want like you normally would and close it to save. The other players though, will not know that this happened and hence don't have the changes you made synchronised so tell them to rejoin, or save the game and load it forcing them to reload the map and they will have the changes you made in the object selector 1
CharlieP Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 I am new to OpenRCT2. Where do I find the object selection window
X7123M3-256 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 In the debug menu (which is the icon with the gears near the save icon). You have to click and hold the icon to get the dropdown - if you just click it you get the console. You can select the object selection window from there.
KKLD Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 You have to enable the debugging menu in the options menu to be able to see it in the top-left corner. Or you can do what I wrote in my comment above by opening the console (check your key bindings) and typing 'open object_selection' as this is what you have to do to bring it up in a multi player game. 1
Broxzier Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Or you can conveniently hold down the gear-icon and choose Object Selection, instead of manually typing the window name.

You should not try changing the list of elements you can build in muliplayer, as it will not change for the other players. By changing it you have a different list than them. If you then place the object, the others, including the host, will crash, or see a different object.
