    That's not why we disabled it, in any case. Rather, it is for technical reasons: we don't have a mechanism to send missing track designs to all players, so using one that not everybody already has will cause desyncs. This can be addressed, but we also have 1001 other things to do. Patches are, of course, always welcomed.

  2. Which rides are missing? That's quite basic info you really need to provide.

    Nevertheless, I do have an idea: OpenRCT2 will now group vehicles together. This means that what was previously displayed as "Stand-up Twister Coaster" will now be grouped together under "Twister Roller Coaster". You will also see that it lists available vehicles in New Ride window.

    To switch vehicles, you can use the second tab in the Ride window.

  3. As we already said on Github, it was caused by Discord integration. Janisozaur actually sent in a patch to allow for Vista support, which has been merged, but we need to update our dependencies. After that, the game should work on Vista again.

    But really, you shouldn't expect programs to support Windows Vista anymore. Microsoft stopped supporting it and it was never popular anyway.

  4. RCT Classic is in essence RCT2 with a few extra features (like boosters), compatibility for modern operating systems (Windows 7/8/10, macOS), ports of RCT1 scenarios and a new interface.

    Now, ports of RCT1 scenarios have been available since shortly after RCT2 was released. Running RCT2 on modern versions of Windows mostly involves installing DirectPlay. The interface is unlikely to be a selling point. And finally, OpenRCT2 is compatible with RCTC boosters (as well as RCT1 ones, which RCTC is not).

    OpenRCT2 has more features than RCTC. What RCTC does have is the element of convenience: you can simply buy it and you'll have a classic RCT game that will work without hacks, you'll have all the scenarios, and not many bugs.

    To me, it seems more like an opportunity than a threat. Of course, there is the point that we don't make money with OpenRCT2, so a competitor won't really affect us personally. There is also the element of competition keeping us sharp. But the opportunity goes beyond that, as RCTC will probably draw more people to classic RCT games again, and thus to OpenRCT2 as well.

    In order to seize the opportunity, Lewis (LRFLEW) and I have worked on making OpenRCT2 compatible with RCTC's assets, with him doing the most of the work. Because of this, OpenRCT2 could be used with the RCTC assets within 24 hours of RCTC for Windows/macOS being released! (It does lack audio and scenarios, unfortunately, although the former should not be very hard to implement.) This means that OpenRCT2 works for both RCT2 and RCTC owners.

  5. I'm not likely to do what you want if you resort to shouting. You are the first one to complain about this. That is no exaggeration. It must be less of a problem than you suggest. And now you get angry that we don't rush to cater to your demands. Do you honestly expect us to do so if you act like that? I'd find this behaviour unacceptable if you paid money for this game, let alone now you're provided it for free and we put most of our free time into it.

  6. Not sure how anyone missed it, since we have repeatedly stated that OpenRCT2 will always support importing from RCT2. Actually, from RCT1 as well. We added RCT1 import to OpenRCT2 ourselves and it would have been pointless if we were to completely drop support for all old formats later.

    There won't be a converter since OpenRCT2 will be able to convert them itself. Just load your DAT/TD6/SV6/SC6 or even TD4/SV4/SC4 into OpenRCT2 like you always have. The only thing that won't be possible is loading your saved files from OpenRCT2 in RCT2.

  7. If ntoskrnl.exe is involved, that's pretty serious - it's the kernel, which you can pretty much only knock out with either defective hardware or very broken drivers. Keep in mind that some anti-virus software installs drivers of its own, and so do CD/DVD emulators.

    If hardware failure is the cause, it's most likely the memory. You can test that by booting your computer from an Ubuntu DVD and selecting 'Test memory' in the boot-up menu. That would need to be left for a few hours if you want to be sure.

    If it is software, you could try a fresh install.

    However, if you're not overly comfortable with solving issues like this, it's probably better left to an IT professional, as Jens pointed out. My personal experience is that independent PC shops usually perform well in this regard, at least over here.

  8. Both Minecraft and OpenRCT2 use more driver features and more system power than, say, just browsing around. Because of this, it will trigger bugs in drivers way more easily. The same applies to overheating.

    Make sure your drivers are updated. First and foremost, the drivers of your video card.

    Also, install software that shows your system temperature and run that software and OpenRCT2 (in a window) side-by-side.

  9. Flat rides are cheap and easy to replace. If it's 2 years old and broken, it makes sense to just demolish and replace them, since you will also be able to ask more money for them. In such a case you could get away with setting their intervals at 1 hr. On the flip side, breakdowns are never good for guest happiness.

  10. Most people on the OpenRCT2 chat are from Europe. This could very well be the same for multiplayer. Judging from the time he logged in, the OP might be from the US. When it's 21:00 on the East Coast, it's already 02:00 in the UK and 03:00 in Western Europe. You're not going to find many people active from those parts then.

We put months of our spare time into a game that we provide for you to use for free, and we haven't been paid a single penny. You haven't contributed a single bloody thing and yet you still think you can talk to us like that? Did you know you can fix stuff yourself and open a pull request? That's what open source is about: helping to create a better game, not whining that someone else should fix it. We have hundreds of people helping us out, whether that's in code, documentation, bug reports or even just general discussion. You have done nothing. And here is a thing: you don't have to. We don't mind if people can't contribute. The only thing we expect is to be treated like people. For you, even that appears to be impossible.

  12. The diagonal flat-to-steep slopes have now been added to the Junior Roller Coaster. They were actually in RCT2's files (but the regular flat-to-steep slopes weren't!), but needed code in order to use them.

    RCT Classic doesn't support steep slopes on the Junior Roller Coaster. Most instances in the RCT1 scenario have been replaced by the Mini or Spiral RC in RCTC. (Which is technically more correct anyway.)

  13. Thanks for uploading your saves, I'll investigate them. Error like this usually pop up when the game tries to draw a sprite ("image") that is invalid. It does not have anything to do with terrain types as imlegos suggested, as those are not saved as sprites anyway. Also, the error "unsupported RCT 1 sprite type" is not fatal, as that is only printed when the game detects an error like this and fixes it. It's one of the other errors you got.
