Regarding the various problems on the website and launcher

Starting last tuesday Google identified multiple OpenRCT2 downloads as potentially serving a virus. This was a false-positive, however, they did blacklist both the download mirror and website as dangerous websites. This mostly affects Chrome and Firefox users.

In an attempt to fasten up the appeal process I've made numerous changes to the API (which is used by the launcher) and the website itself. Mostly in the way downloads are offered. This most likely helped as the website is considered safe again, which is great.

However, some parts still need some work. This means that the launcher still has problems updating both releases and develop builds. On top of that the website itself currently only offers official releases.

I'm expecting to finish up work fixing all issues either this friday or saturday.

My apologies for the inconvenience!

Everything has been fixed! Develop builds are available again.

Currently there's no develop Linux build as there is a problem with the project itself. Will be fixed soon.

The release of v0.2.3 was kind of bugged on the project's side. This also affected the most recent development build. I expect it'll be fixed once a new develop build is pushed.

I'm new to Open RCT2 and wanting to give it a try.  Everytime I go to download it though, Norton Quarantine's the file.  Says it is a "Heuristic Virus" and that level risk is High.

Does anybody else have this problem?  If so, anybody found a way around it?

This question gets asked multiple times a week, so yes, other people do have that problem.

"Heuristics" means that your antivirus cannot find any particular virus, but somehow doesn't trust it. The only workaround is telling your AV that the file is file and it should execute it anyway. (Of course, switching to another antivirus program will also help, but that's probably not the first thing you want to try.)

Worked for an hour, then Norton said it found a Trojan and deleted Open RCT2.  In 3 years of having my laptop, I've never had a virus or anything and the only thing I did today was download Open RCT2 and play for an hour.  I download very little files on this laptop, so not sure what happened as I would like to think it didn't come from Open RCT2.

From my brief experience with Open RCT2, awesome upgrades!  I watched some Youtube tutorials on how to do the diagonal paths and how to clear clearance restrictions.  Was working on a nice custom scenario to start a realistic park timeline.  I have always been annoyed how you can't do diagonal paths and the other restrictions that come with the original RCT2.  Hope there is a "fix" or another way to play the program in the future!  Would love to dive deep into this again in the future!
