Object files not showing in folder

Sometimes when i start openrct2 i get a message "object files out of date" "updating 2100 objects"(or whatever the number may be), but the number of object files in any of my rct2 folders doesn't seem to be increasing, especially not by 100's or thousands of objects. i only have 821 object files in rct2 folder and 1523 in openrct2 folder. Why aren't my object files increasing? where are these files going?

The "2100" objects are from the combined total of both the RCT2 and ORCT2 objdat files, These are probably files downloaded through Multiplayer or DL'd maps from somewhere like New Element or RCTGo

821+1523=2344, so this is how many objects you should have. If it's showing 2100, it's possible that you have duplicates (though I'm not sure how you'd end up with that many duplicates), or perhaps more objects have been installed since you saw that message.

I have seen "sea turtles", "sit-down-at tables", building blocks that i don't have, lighting at night, cars, and some other objects in people's parks on you tube videos and image files. Where are they getting these objects? Are these all included in the two expansion packs?

Night time lighting is in a PR, you can find it here. You cannot add stuff like that with an object. The sea turtles are an expansion pack object and the rest are all custom objects created by players of the game.

Jeroen has poped up a few times in BlindiRL's streams, he has stated that he is working on another project (a game if I recall). He has stated that he might pick it back up when he has more free time.

It might be the case that some of your objects are stored in: AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Infogrames\RollerCoaster Tycoon 2\ObjData. That's where Vanilla RCT2 imports custom scenery when it can't write to the real program files folder.
