  1. what i'm saying is that i that i think the programming is flawed, and i understand that some rides are rediculously intense, and making them gentler will solve this problem. But hey it's not exactly real life its a game. I think there should be a way to adjust or turn off the ride intensity measurements manually. Or i think that the computer's judgments are programmed wrong and should be rewritten.

  2. I have found the ride intensity/excitement judgments built in to open rct2 to be overly sensitive or inaccurate. I have built several rides that look and perform in a balanced or normal way, but the game is assigning them low excitement and ultra extreme intensity so that people vomit or don't ride them. I think someone should fix this, but i am also wondering are there any cheats that allow one manually adjust these measurements?

  3. no i told you im using open air xfinity, i have no router or modem, i have to log in through google chrome using my computer's wifi. i suppose i will just have to set up an in-home type wifi like dsl or cable, because i am getting completely disconnected every two minutes. and thanks this was somewhat helpful but it doesn't seem like you read my entire message. Ziscor; you also helped me in an actual server before and i said "thanks for being helpful.".

  4. The people's intelligence seems to be flawed in some ways. They often get stuck in large concentrations, and do not have the intelligence to go around large areas to find the ride/food stand they are attracted to. Also the handymen do not have an optimized strategy for finding messes. Also rides break down more often than any mechanic can fix them which in rct2 is every 10 minutes. These are all problems in normal roller coaster tycoon 2 but seem to be worse in openrct2.

  6. ADDING TO MY PROBLEM:

I also con not start a room of my own. I tried opening ports and completely deactivating my firewall and it still did not seem to work. Maybe i am doing this wrong or maybe its my internet connection. Once again i am using xfinity open air wifi that i log into through a web browser. And by the way when i get disconnected from a room usually within one minute i first get a desync warning then a stutter, then a freeze, freeze, disconnected message. this was not as bad several weeks ago. Why might this be happening???

  7. i am getting disconnected almost on the dot and always or (definitly) within about 1 to 3 minutes of joining any room/server.
I also have to close and reopen openrct2.exe after this happens because after i do get disconnected once and i try to re-join a room i get an automatic: "unable to connect:connection closed" message until i completely close and reopen openrct2.exe.
I am using open- air xfinity wifi that i log into through a web browser and i was told by other users that this is probably the problem, but several weeks ago it seemed as if i would last about 20 minutes or more in most rooms without getting disconnected. By the way, i have few problems doing normal web browsing and video watching (except for an occasional pause or disconnect usually 1 every three hours).

I am wondering do i have to set up a home internet connection or is this a bug in the open rct2 exe file?

  9. ok thanks benj i will try this. I just don't know why i keep getting disconnected. Maybe it has to do with my internet or firewall??

also I am curious to ask; why are there so few servers and so few people playing this great game?? and when might there be a better software version with expansions etc??? and, who are the people developing this?? will it continue to be free?

well, i'll try playing online again, but i'll take your advice and try playing one-player games as well. My computer can barely handle openrct2 by the way (a toshiba laptop amd athlon x2 2.1 gighz windows vista 32-bit) so a new computer might help too.

oh, and i have not yet learned to use the cheats, developer tools or debug.

I also tried downloading microsoft visual basic so i could completely reprogram the game myself, but so far the software is not working and i have little programing experience.

I am so excited about playing this game online but i am frustrated with the lack of servers, players, and upgrades.

well, i'll keep checking for updates and servers and i will pray that the developers get this working better.

                                 thanks again

  10. Hello. I own an old version of roller coaster tycoon 2 that i bought at a thrift store. It is from 2002 and was distributed by infogrames. I see that there are newer versions for sale at atari.com but i do not currently own one nor would i know which one to buy. I wonder, do these newer versions of rct2 have built in networking or multi-player modes and fixed software errors/ issues?

Anyway, I recently started playing open rct2 online by downloading the zip file from openrct2.com but i have been having so many disconnections that it's nearly impossible to play. I keep getting the message "unable to connect" or "connection lost disconnected." it seems like somebody is purposely disconnecting me somehow from a server or computer.  what is going on? what should i do?
