Weird... Before you try anything else, just retry it one more time. Sometimes it... just works again :p In case it doesn't: Have you tried to uninstall the launcher through the config panel and reinstalling it?Can you run the normal version of RCT2? (through Steam, I suppose)By the way, the black window is not an error. It's the game, because it's a beta, it still launches with a console window. As soon as we've reached version 1 (the first real stable, I guess :p ) it will not prompt the console window. However, the game should just launch seconds after that window has opened...

I have tried re-installing through the config panel, and nothing works, but yes I can play normal RCT2 through steam. (Sorry for late response posted late last night and had school.) EDIT: The latest stable wants to run for me, but I still would like the Dev version.

Oh so... The stable version does work? Weird... I'd say keep trying until it works. Also, the fact that you get the console window is a good thing. It's just very weird that you don't get an error...

It does, but apparently it doesn't show up when taking a screen shot, the error is as follows. "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click OK to terminate the application."

I think I am using the Windows XP service pack, but my computer runs Vista..
Hmm, vista is not XP. Try the steps on the link I provided in my previous post. That could fix the issue.

Alright, I did it and it said it couldn't fix files, I followed the link to the next set of steps and I'm confused on where to look... Here is what the .txt file said. http://pastebin.com/wGmwHS4d I am very sorry that this is happening.

Could you try running a standalone version (instead of using the launcher)? It would surprise me that this would fix it, but you never know. You can find the latest zip download here: https://openrct.net/latest.zip

I get the oxc00... error when running the Zip.

Interesting...In that case I don't think the problem lies with us. (and finding a sollution for it does seem to prove to be difficult)You can try running it in safe mode (with networking), see if that works. (howto)

While going to the GitHub and downloading that version, I got this error. "This application has failed to start because openrct2.ddl was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Anyone know where I can find this file?

That file is created as a result of Compiling, which is what we do.

Yes indeed, if you don't know programming you should stick with the builds we provide. If you do have knowledge of programming (Visual Studio in particular), you can try building the dll file yourself. But I doubt that's going to fix anything.

I finally got it to work in Safe Mode with Networking after some figiting around. But, how can I make it look like normal mode and not win XP and being blown up x100?

Hey, same thing is happening with me, I can launch the game just fine through the unpacked ZIP and the .exe works perfectly, but when I try to launch it through the launcher the same error pops up.

Hmm that's weird. What the launcher does, is downloading the latest zip build, unzip it and run it. (just like you do manually) Jamaka2001's problem is different, he also can't launch normal zip builds (outside of safe mode)

So in the long run, I'm out of luck w/o using Safe Mode until I get a new computer?
I'm affraid you are :( Or you could try reinstalling your computer, but that might not be an option for you...
