Confusion and trouble opening downloaded park files

i am unable to open downloaded park files, so far parks uploaded by members of openrct2.org. If i type .sv6 after the park file name sometimes it becomes an official openrct2 park file with the proper park icon, but the park often does not open.

There is a new save format, which means some of the parks now have a .park extension rather than .sv6. Manually changing that to .sv6 will break the save.

Changing the filename does not change the file in any way. There is no supported way to convert a .park file into an SV6 file, because the new format supports things that the original format cannot handle. You will need to be on the develop build in order to open .park files.
