stef084
i'm figuring out how to use the animator in the object editor. in the 1 view anim section it allows 16 frames. I'm making a waterfall and it looks good but seems to skip the frame in the beginning. I put the 16 images in twice w/ the same results. I have not been able to actually see it in the game however because it crashes whenever I exit the cheats menu. I noticed this crash has been going on since may so I'm assuming it will be a while. btw I did try the older stable versions but it still crashed. Is there a step I'm missing in the animation? any help is appreciated as always Edited October 14, 2016 by stef084 1 Link to comment
Broxzier
What are you using to make those objects? If you're sure you're making the object correctly, file an issue about it on github, and include the object for people to investigate. 1 hour ago, stef084 said: I noticed this crash has been going on since may so I'm assuming it will be a while. I assume you mean the object selection, not the cheat menu? This crash only happens to a few people, so it's probably something to do with the amount of custom objects and the likes. 2 Link to comment

stef084
as for the waterfall I'm doing this: 1. find green screen waterfall on YouTube. 2. put on media player that I can advance the water flow one frame at a time 3. get 16 continuous frames and put them in object maker. it looks really good except for the blank frame before the 16 steps recycle Link to comment
Broxzier
Removing some CSO might work, but make sure to make a backup. Also please let us know if that solves it. Can you also send send us your entire ObjData folder so that we can reproduce that bug? I haven't used Object Maker in a long time, does it start counting from 0? If so, use frame 0-15, not 1-16. 1 Link to comment
stef084
well I have two places that say obj data. the one I have to do a search for to find. I'll get on that right away but need to get my wife to show me how to send those. I started getting rid of things that take up the most space. as for my waterfall project, it goes 0-16 and I put an image in every space. won't it just make the gap bigger if I skip 16? i'll get back to you w/ those obj dat files Link to comment
Broxzier
Can you try saving it with just the frames 0 to 15, so nothing in the slots 16 and later? There are three locations where ObjData can get saved: RCT2 Install Directory/ObjData %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\RCT2 Install Directory\ObjData (Browse to find yours, mine is Program Files (x86)\Infogrames\RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 OpenRCT2 folder\object You can zip them all together and simply drag them here to upload it. 2 Link to comment
X7123M3-256
If you upload the object I can have a look to see if all sprites are present in the file and laid out correctly, and that the animation indices aren't out of range or incorrect. Link to comment

Broxzier
Thanks for the objdata folders, I'll add them to my objdata filders and see if the game also crashes for me. Which of the files is the one you made, so @X7123M3-256 can inspect it? 1 Link to comment
stef084
I figured out I could switch to the "fountain" setting and it showed all the frames. now I'm trying to get it to look smooth. as for the files I must have deleted too many things because now I cant even open my park. I've been trying to put stuff back in to see if it will work Link to comment
Broxzier
I just took a good look at the zips you uploaded, both are called ObjData, so I assume bot of them aren't from the OpenRCT2 folder? However, the zip_2.zip is packed with non-ObjData files. It contains parks, zip files, saved tracks, text files, and even some files from OpenRCT2. One of the folders actually contains itself again (zip_2.zip/ObjData/imlegos' Terrain Block Set V3/imlegos' Terrain Block Set V3). I copied everything to the OpenRCT2/objects folder, but an not experiencing any crashes when using and closing the object selection. 1 Link to comment
