Track Layouts in Multiplayer

The track preset window has been removed from muliplayer, because it was a major cause of crashes. This will get fixed eventually, but obviously you already know that from the other 100 topics about this feature.

This feature can't be added in until some better way is devised for placing predesigned layouts. Currently it does not work because only the player who attempt to place the ride down is guarunteed to have the .td6 file for that design. Anyone who doesn't have it crashes because their game is told to use a nonexistent file.

I crashed myself while placing one (when they weren't yet hidden), the server didn't crash.

To prevent the crashes they were simply removed from multiplayer until it's fixed (but sadly, we still get reports of people complaining because the game doesn't explain why they are hidden).

That's not true at all. The problem is that while you are viewing the tracks, it creates a new ride to render it in the preview window.

@Broxzier there is more than one issue with the track designs in multiplayer. One is that the preview window creates dummy rides and a dummy map to render it and that causes a crash the other is that the .TD6 does not get sent to the server and causes a null derferrence as the track loader isnt a game command. What Jensj12 says is correct as well.

This program might help. It is a track decoder program I used to use on RCT1 & 2. It takes a track and breaks it down and allows a text file to be printed with each piece of track. It is not a corrupted file but my virus protector occasionally wants to delete it.

This would allow users to manually build the track.
