  1. Yes, the other way around though. I've disabled clearance for a lot of scenery too. For example the flowers right under the tree in the center, and railings next to tracks that do not allow it normally, for that glasses shop right under the free fall track, and also for the entrance to the mine ride.

  2. I've never had to do more than setting compatibility mode myself, but perhaps this topic could help you: http://www.nedesigns.com/topic/27987/the-rct-guide-to-windows-78-merging-window-mode-guide-too/Just the part about Running RCT2 & RCTLL on Windows 7 & 8, it might work for Vista too.

  3. To start off. I've been working on a Micro park since yesterday (21x21 tiles of owned land). I decided to make it medieval themed. I'm not entirely sure about the placement of the motion simulator and Enterprise, so I might move them around later on. I mainly want to focus on the scenery, and make everything compact. Here's a screenshot of what I've got so far:

  4. Go to your RCT install directory, rightclick rct2.exe, click properties. Go to the Compatibility tab, tick the box for Compatibility mode, and select Windows XP (Service pack 3) from the list. Click OK. It might give you a warning when you open it now, just click OK and it should run. I hope this works.

  5. Alright, then we'll just wait for imlegos. And to answer your question, you can add any ride and scenery you want from the original game, just nothing from the expansion packs or custom content. The wild west town set is already there if I recall correctly.

  6. Good idea. When either one of you (benboyrocks and imlegos) claims the park you'll have the time to work on it.Current list: imlegos, benboyrocks, SnowMew, AdamLambert, Philmon11, Broxzier, UTMANMissed turn: Derf, jensj12

  7. I think I read somewhere originally from the devs that this will happen but they have to figure out where the memory cap is in the game as they're reverse engineering it. Not 100% sure thats exactly whats going on seeing as I'm not helping develop the game yet but it was something along those lines.
You are correct. Right now there are parts in the code that use data from the original rct2 executable directly. This is being done all over the place, and, before each of them has been replaced with the 'decompiled' C code, OpenRCT keeps relying on the original game, thus will keep having these limits. Only when all of these have been replaced we are able to higher or even remove the limits. This will also break backwards-compatibility.
  8. I looked at it, and even though it takes up a lot of space, it's right next to the edge of the world, and there's space under and next to it for smaller rides. There's enough coasters if you'd ask me already :P

  9. Yeah, even over a single switch it's not stable, but it worked quite nice though. Both people just need to have the "build while paused" cheat enabled, and you can build together without desyncs. The only issue is that with certain objects it still triggers one, for example with this specific roof:View imageI've now broken the scenery from Philmon a little by accident, and can't restore it because of this.

  10. I've made a dueling/racing coaster while UTMAN was watching, and gave me feedback and such. I took a bit more space than the limit this time, though last turn I didn't build much at all (excuses, I know :D). Next time I'll just focus on scenery again. Anyway, here it is:The Grey BattleView imageBy the way Philmon: There were some guests roaming about on the grass, they must have been there for a while because they were quite spread out. Also the queue lines for the rides you made were quite long, people were complaining about waiting for them for ages. Other than these issues the coaster looks nice and the scenery around it was good too! I've only made a few changes there to include benches and stuff like that. Also the green coaster has crashed with people still stuck on it. I've reset the crash status, though this green hanging coaster might need to be tweaked.UTMAN has the save file already, but for the curious: https://openrct.net/cc/share/Broxzier/43/OPENRCT2+V8.sv6We tried this together over the network using Hamachi, but the desyncs are too bad to really work together. While the game is paused it actually works quite good, but as soon as you unpause there will be a desync again.

  11. I read somewhere that the most confusing park layout award is given if you have lots of different types of scenery close to each other. It's not based on path layout.
If you look at the code (award.c, award_is_deserved_most_confusing_layout function) you can see that it actually just checks if there are at least 10 guests who are lost or can't find something, and this amount is more than or equal to 1/64th of the total guests.
  12. I'm not sure which you mean exactly. From your post I understand your scenario has the option enabled that prevents you from building over a certain height. If that's the case, you can open the scenario options (under the Debug menu), and deselect the checkbox for this restriction.View imageIn case you mean that you cannot build high enough, there's a cheat right under the cheat menu option for it, here:View image
