Kyben
Hey guys,I've loved RCT since I was little and love the idea of modding to make it even better! I've been following this for a couple of months and it's fun just to see the additions and enhancements that are being added. Although I'm curious where you guys see OpenRCT2 going and what are the major things you want to get in, to the point where you can say 'This is what we made OpenRCT2 for'? I don't know much about OpenTTD, so it's hard for me to understand in the description.I see a couple tidbits in chats and notes, such as multiplayer support, but it'd be cool to get a list of plans or hopes of whats to come. :)I noticed you guys plan to eventually be able to run OpenRCT2 without the base game. How is that possible without publishers shutting this down? Are you planning to replace every graphic/sound too? Curious why it's necessary since RCT2 goes on sale for pretty cheap these days. Thanks for all the work your putting into this. Link to comment

Basically, we want to take the game, fix all the bugs, improve it, and beyond. Where it ends up is up to the community and the developers. Link to comment
Kyben
>Are you planning to replace every graphic/sound too?>>Eventually, Yes.That's almost a shame to me, since the sprites and sounds are so iconic in RCT. It's part of the nostalgia and charm. Was looking forward to more improvements to the existing game, rather than a revamp. Unless you can choose to use existing content or the revamp? I only ask cause I noticed you guys adding the ability to use RCT1 themes and music. Link to comment
Gymnasiast
It has always been the plan to give the users the option to use either original or free (libre) graphics and sounds, just like one can still use the original graphics, sounds and music in OpenTTD. But obviously, the user needs to own RCT2 (and ideally RCT1) to use the original ones, while free ones can be freely distributed. Link to comment
SnowMew
I'm hoping you can make it so we can plug in the old sounds, music, and sprites just like OpenTTD does. Scanning for your original install and then taking said files, as well as giving the option to use yours. It'd be the best solution. Link to comment
Kyben
That's great to hear Gymnasiast! Again, I've never played OpenTTD and the plan must be between the developers so I wasn't aware. Link to comment
