Hello and RCT1 saved park question

Greetings. I'm a roller coaster enthusiast and have been a fan of RCT1 since it first came on the market. When my WinXp computer went on the fritz and I purchased a Win8.1 system I've been unable to use it so I was very happy to find Open RCT2 and the excellent RCT1 scenarios that have been produced for it.

However, I have completed many of the RCT1 scenarios and loved to continue to modify them. Open RCT2 actually loads my old RCT1 saved games but they are always"dead": The park and all rides are closed and empty. I can also convert them to scenarios but that provides an initial day, empty park. Does anyone know of a way to convert these saved games for OpenRCT2?
