CharlieP Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Have we figured out to load saved rct1 files (sv4) and scenarios (sc4)? I read that the scenario editor can load them, but when I try I get dump files. Right now I have to use the original RCT2 program, load them using its scenario editor then save them as a scenario in order to bring them up on OpenRCT2. A pain in the A. 106e11ce-e23b-4726-b6d5-c5988bf40e70(0ddf5ea).dmp 106e11ce-e23b-4726-b6d5-c5988bf40e70.sv6 097269dd-2ed6-40c7-a965-d1a46bfac5fa(01f4ddd).dmp 097269dd-2ed6-40c7-a965-d1a46bfac5fa.sv6
imlegos Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Where did you read that the Scenario Editor could load .sv4?
jensj12 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 This is in the changelog, the most common place for non-dev players to find out if there are new features: - Fix: [#2958] Unable to import RCT1 parks in the scenario editor using the load landscape dialog. The game shouldn't just crash when something went wrong.
imlegos Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 You can only see the change log in-game the first time you boot a dev or stable game, all subsequent boots lack a change log unless you launch the other then the first.
janisozaur Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 We use a simple check, roughly "if (last_used_version != current_version) { show_changelog(); }". The file with changelog is distributed nevertheless. It is also available at https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/blob/develop/distribution/changelog.txt
imlegos Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 The problem is, it doesn't show changes between dev builds. But this is beside the point.
Wuzzy Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) Hi. I wonder, too, if this is possible and frankly, the main question is still unanswered so I ask it again: Is it possible to play RollerCoaster Tycoon scenarios in OpenRCT2? And what about savegames? Also, I too have read that OpenRCT2 can import RCT scenarios: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/wiki/Changes-to-original-game#reintroduction-of-rct1-features Edited July 6, 2016 by Wuzzy
