Bmeowmix Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Just installed OpenRCT2, but when I try to launch it a dialogue box displays "Unable to find RCT2 installation directory. Please select the directory where you installed RCT2!" as well as a blank command prompt-esque box. It then brings up a box to select the install directory, but when I select it nothing happens, leaving me with the command prompt looking thing. I can launch the regular game perfectly fine. Any help? Its the Triple Thrill Pack off of GOG if that helps at all.

Kevdog3700 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 what i found is you have to wait a good couple of minutes when launching for the first time

My bad. I forgot to mention that I couldn't find a working solution when I searched it. I guess I'll look again
imlegos Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Sigh.... What version are you using? If Steam, look for the RCT2 directory in your Steamapps > Common folder. If Atari DL check under the Atari folder If disk, check under "Infograms Interactive" Not sure what the others are called, these are just the 3 standard. In launcher options, set "Installation Directory" too one of the 3 above "Rollercoaster Tycoon 2" folders. (depending on version, this may varie.

imlegos Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Guess that would mean it's in either Atari, or GoG folder. I don't have much interaction with them.
Bmeowmix Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 I was selecting the correct directory in the GOG folder and it just showed the blank command prompt afterwards. I fixed it by reinstalling directly into the RCT2 folder (for the second time...) Not sure what was up with that...
Broxzier Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 You've installed OpenRCT2 in the same folder as RCT2 now? I'm not sure that's a good idea.
janisozaur Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Should work just fine. Keep in mind the difference between Data/ and data/.
