Swimming Pools

I know about the Amazing Earl's swimming pool ride, but are there any other swimming pools out there for RCT2?  I've seen references to them, but can't find them at all.

There's no swimming pools that i know of, however, there's several water slide rides that are based on the Dingy slide. Pretty sure Earl has one of them.

AE's made a boat-ride with swimming peeps as sprites.

That's the only 'swimming pool' I know of. The game does not have a swimming pool on itself. There could probably be another ride like those bumper cars ride with different sprites, but that's it.

There is a lazy river type ride that has guests sit in rubber rings instead of swimming (METRTUBE.DAT) - maybe that's what he's asking about?

A few older threads on other forums that I've seen have references specifically to swimming pools other then the AE version.  I'll check out the lazy river rude, through, thanks!

I've never seen another swimming pool ride but that doesn't mean there's definitely not one ... is there something specifically wrong with AE's? The only thing I can think of is that the peep model isn't that great, but then, that's true of pretty much every custom ride.

 

Also be aware that METRTUBE.DAT does not export correctly even in OpenRCT2... I still haven't figured out why.

Nope, just wanted to see what any other swimming pool rides were like if they exist.  Thanks!

I have a ton of swimming pool content, with water slides and such, but they don't swim in it (I think, haven't messed with it much tbh)

There is a swimming pool ride by AE, as discussed above. That's what you can use to make swimming pools, I'm not aware of an alternative ATM.

I think he's talking about your custom rides, @X7123M3-256. The raft slides and body slides.

The best swimming pools I've seen were made using 8 cars.  Place swimming pool scenery.  Create water slide.  Use 8 cars to lower the water slide into the pool.  Use 8 cars to make the water slide vanish.  Then it looks like the peeps are swimming around in the pool.  

I don't know how many I'm missing, other than oak barrels from Time Twisters expansion,  but this is a list of all the water rides I've seen.

I think I prefer the AE swimming pool ride to a hacked waterslide, because the peeps are animated and their movement is randomized. AE's peep sprites don't look as good as the game's, but since there isn't a body slide in the vanilla game, you need to use a custom one anyway.

Also, SLDTUBE1 and SLDBODY are missing from that list.

Great White RollerCoaster isn't a water ride, it's a Corkscrew Car type from WW

Surfing Coaster is also a Twister from TT (I think...)

I guess you might not be going for particularly water rides, but rather water themed rides.

Also, fun fact: According to the manual, Dingy Slides do not use water, despite being categorized as a water ride
