Multiplayer - Incorrect software version

Ok so I have the most recent up to date stable version of this, which is 0.0.3 right?

Well I wanted to try out the multiplayer and for whatever reason almost every server I see has an "incorrect software version"

I just need to ask but am I expected to have the latest build on a consistant basis or are people using an old build?

Because I find it absolutely ridiculous that I need to have the latest build which changes almost daily, just to play multiplayer with anyone.

There are two 'latest' builds: 0.0.3 stable and 0.0.4 develop. Stable shouldn't change much and develop changes daily. Try the other update channel if you can't connect to a server.

why exactly do you mean by update channel.

And it's not that I can't connect to a server period, it's just the majority I see are running some other version of the software.

You can set the launched to either use development builds or stable builds in the options, you can also set it to update automatically.

I should also note that hovering over the 'light' you can see which version the server is running.
