I have Steam, but it wasn't on it.

Even though I have Steam on my Useless Stuff folder, but when it told me to choose where it downloaded, and I know Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is on Steam. I didn't find Steam anywhere, I check the download folder because I already downloaded OpenRCT 2, and it won't open! What else I'm supposed to do?!

OpenRCT2 doesn't magically appear in your Steam library. You'll have to find the executable yourself and open it, or use the launcher to run the game. The launcher has a feature that can install a shortcut in Steam for you.

I just used the 'add non-steam game' option in steam to add it to my library. Works even if the launcher doesn't have a steam stub.

The Launcher stub acutally replaces the vanilla rct2.exe file with a 'pre'-launcher which made you choose between RCT2 and OpenRCT2. This way, Steam was able to count your played timed, even when playing OpenRCT2.
