ROLLIE94
Hello Forum, When I try to launch OpenRCT2 on my Mac I get these two messages: 1. It says: for security reasons it is not recommended to use openrct2 with increased privileges 2. Does anyone know now what I have to do to run OpenRCT2 on my Mac? Thanks for help Link to comment
jensj12
1. Disable admin rights (or whatever it’s called on a Mac). The game doesn’t need it, and in case you somehow get a malicious version of the game or connect to a malicious server, having it enabled is a great security risk. 2. The game needs the assets from the original RCT2 (not OpenRCT2) game to run, so you need to tell the game where you have those. I don’t have a Mac, so I can’t help with Mac-specific issues. If you don’t own RCT2, you need to buy it (€10 on steam or GOG). Link to comment

I have been on this site: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012 but I get stuck at step 4 “Click Join (or Edit). And second, I have the assets from the original RCT2 Tripple Thrill Pack, I installed it already (I installed the RCT2TTP with Wine on my Mac) Can anyone help me? Gymnasiast
You're using the Windows version of OpenRCT2 on your Mac. You should use the Mac version. Link to comment

I have downloaded the Mac version of OpenRCT2 and launched it. It says this when I launch it: The problem now is that I can not find the directory where I installed RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. Does anyone know what the default folder is where RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 is installed on a Mac? Thanks for help Edited August 1, 2018 by ROLLIE94 Link to comment
Gymnasiast
When you installed RCT2TTP with Wine on your Mac, did it create an icon for it in Applications? Link to comment

No it did not. It did on my Desktop but not in Applications. Why? Edited August 3, 2018 by ROLLIE94 Link to comment
Gymnasiast
Because it might be embedded in the bundle. Programs on the Mac look like a file, but are secretly folders. Anyway, can you right-click the RCT2TTP icon on your desktop and tell me if it lists 'Toon pakketinhoud' ('Show package contents')? If so, click that option. A Finder window should appear. The RCT2 files should be somewhere in the folder structure. If you have a folder called 'RollerCoaster Tycoon 2' with 'ObjData' as a subfolder, you have the right one. Copy that "RollerCoaster Tycoon 2" folder to Downloads or some other easy-to-find folder. 1 Link to comment

Gymnasiast
I don't think using the search function will work here at all. I meant just browsing through the Contents folder and all its subfolders. 1 Link to comment
