Switch Coaster Types: Booster sometimes not working
S-Man42 replied to S-Man42's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
I tried dinghies and at the screenshots you can see the spinning mouse cars -
Thanks a lot for your patience and ideas I didn't even know about the switch in the coaster's main window which I found now. Awesome I hope I am not impolite if I ask some more. Some things you mentioned sound really nice. It is nice to learn more and more. Are there some examples/tutorials? All I know about "shoestrings" is from that thread But I am not sure how this would help. Maybe the definition of a shoestring is unclear. I thought that the shoestring means this splitting the train thing. Am I wrong? So what is your intention? Splitting a double dinghies train into two single cars and then let one brake on the underground where the other one is right on the turn? Seems possible but then I need the switch at the beginning... Seems really hard (but it would be a great challenge, wouldn't it?) How can I add invisible cars (or in more general: different types of cars)? Thanks for your patience

Hi I played around with the roller coaster type switch and I found something strange. I build a test coaster with a brake and a booster. The brakes always work. But the booster sometimes has no effect. How can this be explained? 1. Wooden Wild Mouse: No brake, no booster --> brake works, booster not. 2. (Steel) Wild Mouse: Brake, no booster, but has booster sprites (!) --> brake works, booster not. 3. Giga Coaster: Both pieces exist, both work. (But: Booster is set to 20km/h, the graph shows much more?!) 4. LIM: Brakes, no booster: brake work, booster work (with correct 20km/h value) The brake always works as expected but the booster piece always work different. What is the logic behind this? Or is this a bug? Greets S-Man

@X7123M3-256 I had a look for the breaks. The Wodden Wild Mouse doesn't have any brakes. So I have to merge another rollercoaster type into the track. But merging needs 2 tiles afaik. There is not enough space in the small river for that. Do you have any other ideas? It would be great if I could brake on the turn tiles... Is it possible to make any track part a brake/booster/whatever like the chain lift? In reality the rafting boats sometimes breaks after the drop by turning the boat. So a brake on a tiny turn wouldn't be unrealistic.

@X7123M3-256 Your last one is mind fucking. It seems to play with the perspective. But I do not get te trick. Would you explain it? How do you hide the level difference?

Thanks. So I'll think about the breaks

@Wuis: The Wooden Wild Mouse has the tiny turns. What is the benefit of the S-Bend to 2 of these turns? May I do not know what element you are mentioning? Edit: I had a look to the steel variant. But I can't see that there is a shorter drop. Is there really a difference to the wooden one? Same turns, same drop slopes. @Deurklink: Sorry, I didn't get it. Can you explain your idea please?

Hi, thanks for your suggetions. Maybe I should use another roller coaster type. I took the Wooden Wild Mouse because of its tiny turns and small drops. Maybe there is another type with better (smaller) drops. At most types the drops need more height so I cannot make the dinghies fall only one or two levels. Any ideas?

Yes it looks quiet similar

Hi, thanks! I uploaded a screencast to YouTube:

Thanks to the tile inspector and some cheats I could create a white-water rafting attraction. What a fun

This one is really great. I laughed really loud

Only 4 different edge surface designs available
S-Man42 replied to S-Man42's topic in Problems, Bugs and Feedback
Sry, there was a typo. Of course I meant csg1i.dat Now I tried again, this time without CSG1.DAT (so I left only csg1.1 csg1i.dat css17.dat). Is is accepted by the application too. But the result is the same: Scenarios work, Data not. I tried also to Copy ALL dat file from the origin RCT1 folder. Same result... There must be one thing I do not see.... EDIT: I found the solution! This only works with the development version and not with the release version! Thank you all! -

Wow, ok. I never noticed it before. Thanks for explaining. Ok, now I bought RCT1 and copied the files as mentioned in the article. The scenarios are found by OpenRCT1 but the surface styles are the same as before. I made a RCT1-Folder within my RCT2-Installation and created the Data and Scenarios folder into it. I copied the scenarios into the Folder and the mentioned files csg1.1 CSG1.DAT csg1.dat and css17.dat into the Data folder. Then I set up the RCT1 path at the options dialogue and restarted. What did I miss? -

Thanks a lot! So it is not a bug? RCT2 has really only 4 styles? -
Hi, first of all: Great project! Thank you so much! But I have a little problem. I really found no solution anywhere. In my RCT2 version (within OpenRCT2 too) I have only a few surface designs. Especially I am missing the "wall" edge surface. Does anybody know why some surfaces are missing? I am currently using the version from Steam, but I found an older disc installation (I cannot start because of missing the CD). By comparing the two ObjData folders I found no file in the disc folder which is not also in the Steam folder. So how can I get additional surfaces (or how can I get the missing ones?) The screenshot is from the OpenRCT2 Scenery Editor of the currently latest stable version (But the problem is also in the plain Steam installation). Thank you a lot in advance! Greets S-Man
