Can you try saving it with just the frames 0 to 15, so nothing in the slots 16 and later?

There are three locations where ObjData can get saved:

    • RCT2 Install Directory/ObjData
    • %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\RCT2 Install Directory\ObjData (Browse to find yours, mine is Program Files (x86)\Infogrames\RollerCoaster Tycoon 2
    • OpenRCT2 folder\object

You can zip them all together and simply drag them here to upload it.

here are those zips . sorry I messed up the middle one. it's only zip 1 and zip 2

    ZIP1.zip

    ObjData.zip

    zip_2.zip

  2. well I have two places that say obj data. the one I have to do a search for to find. I'll get on that right away but need to get my wife to show me how to send those. I started getting rid of things that take up the most space. as for my waterfall project, it goes 0-16 and I put an image in every space. won't it just make the gap bigger if I skip 16? i'll get back to you w/ those obj dat files:D

  3. as for the waterfall I'm doing this:  1. find green screen waterfall on YouTube. 2. put on media player that I can advance the water flow one frame at a time 3. get 16 continuous frames and put them in object maker. it looks really good except for the blank frame before the 16 steps recycle

What are you using to make those objects? If you're sure you're making the object correctly, file an issue about it on github, and include the object for people to investigate.

I assume you mean the object selection, not the cheat menu? This crash only happens to a few people, so it's probably something to do with the amount of custom objects and the likes.

yes you are correct, I meant to say the obj selection menu. and I do have a lot of custom stuff. do you think if I deleted a bunch of it (custom stuff) it would not crash anymore?

  5. i'm figuring out how to use the animator in the object editor. in the 1 view anim section it allows 16 frames. I'm making a waterfall and it looks good but seems to skip the frame in the beginning. I put the 16 images in twice w/ the same results. I have not been able to actually see it in the game however because it crashes whenever I exit the cheats menu. I noticed this crash has been going on since may so I'm assuming it will be a while. btw I did try the older stable versions but it still crashed. Is there a step I'm missing in the animation? any help is appreciated as always

Please provide the exact steps needed to reproduce this bug. I'm not able to crash the game with your description. The issue page that Nubbie linked will be the best place to put this info.

I put the info on the linked page as well. the exact steps are 1. click on object selection dropdown under the debug menu

                                                                                                     2. select an item or not, doesn't matter

                                                                                                     3. close out of the object selection menu

                                                                                                     4. as soon as you hit the x to close out of menu the crash dump occurs

Go to the cheats menu and select "show vehicles from other track types" and "show all operating modes". Now build the track you want using a ride type which does allow the pieces you want, then change the vehicles to rowing boats, and the operating mode to boat hire. You will probably then want to make the track invisible ("rides set type <ride index> 74") as the coaster tracks won't look good on a boat ride. And as a side note, back up your game before running that command - if you type the ride index incorrectly it may crash (can't remember if this is fixed or not).

Trainers are incompatible with OpenRCT2; most of the functionality has been superseded by in-game cheats. I'd say you can probably carry out more hacks with OpenRCT2 than you can in 8Cars now, though some features are still lacking. Track merging, zero clearance, removing most limits (that can be removed), etc are all implemented through cheats and you shouldn't need to use 8Cars for those unless you prefer to do so. If you need to do something with a trainer that isn't yet supported by OpenRCT2, you'll need to open the park in vanilla to do the hack. I can't help you get a working version though, because I couldn't get 8Cars working either.

so I am making a track that follows under the stream I made, then making the tracks invisible so it looks like they are boating down the steam?

The boat ride allows you to build a track for the boats, it always has done even in vanilla. You don't need any hacks for this, you just build it like any other tracked ride. It only allows single tile turns and straights though, so if you want wider turns then you do have to merge it or put it onto a different track.

yeah I just don't like the perfect right angle turns and the little gap between the track and grass when I put in a layer down into the grass. I like the more natural flow of making your own water path. where did everyone learn about merging tracks or other custom techniques? I have searched online and found a bunch of custom scenery etc but no merging, corrupt map or crooked house technique.
