hi-just trying to find the object editor. I completely forget where it was. I pretty much forgot everything. I also got a workbench from NE Designs and put it in my custom object folder but can't seem to use that either. love this game but I feel like I need a tutor
-
I'm able to open the older ones, just not the current one. it doesn't show any error message it just acts as if I didn't click on my park. thanks in advance for any clues

If you have too many objects for one tab, the workaround is to put them in different tabs and not all in miscellaneous. If you have hit the limit on the number of loaded objects (which is 128 for rides and large scenery, and 252 for small scenery), there is no workaround (well, there is for certain kinds of small scenery but it's super awkward to use and I've never seen it done).
ok. but not sure how. when I make an object in the object editor I just drag the file into my obj data list, then when I see it listed under small scenery I checkmark it and it always ends up in miscellaneous somehow

There is a limit to how many items can be shown in a scenery tab at once ... if you already have a lot of objects selected then perhaps you've reached the limit (I thought it was a bit more than 70 though).
so I can only put roughly 60-70 self made pieces in my park at one time? is there anyway around this?
-
I made pieces that don't exist in the game originally in the object editor, then added them to the game. they're listed in my object data and show up in my object selection menu, I check mark them to be added to my park but don't see them. I've already added around 60-70 pieces and this is the first time I can't find it
-
when I go to find it in my miscellaneous section it's not there. I have quite a few custom pieces, not sure if that's the problem. any help is appreciated as always
-
just to add, it's a small scenery object and the editor will let me put in 3 out of the 4 angles

thanks fellas

anyone know roughly how many custom pieces I can make and add to my game? don't want to start to get crazy with it then half way through realize I cant make anymore. ty for any help

I made an animated waterfall using 34 frames in the object editor and it starts out looking good but after a couple seconds the top half freezes while the bottom continues to be animated. any help fixing this is appreciated

Right folder?
Edit; Try moving the 'plugin.dat & objects.idx' in Documents\OpenRCT2 to another location and try again, if it doesnt work you can move it back
bronxier told me to try deleting plugin.dat so I will need to find that again
-
hi nubbie --well as I thought the object files that the black box says are missing are actually listed in my obj data folder so confused --even more so
-
I figured out I could switch to the "fountain" setting and it showed all the frames. now I'm trying to get it to look smooth. as for the files I must have deleted too many things because now I cant even open my park. I've been trying to put stuff back in to see if it will work

Broxzier are you there?

It very well may be you deleted a needed file for your park. If you deleted that file(s), you should be able to easily get it back.
In the little black box that pops up with OpenRCT2, usually when a save can't be opened because of missing files, it says what files are missing. Click that box and write down the missing files.
....and then download them again.
Or:
Go into OpenRCT2 and search in the options for the option to turn on or off "Allow missing files to be downloaded for you" (This isn't the actual words, but you should be able to find it). If you do find it, turn it on.
Hopefully either of these solutions will fix it. Get back to me if it doesn't!
Also: @JamsSquirrel, I see you have taken my advice and tried to use it to help others. Good choice youngling, good choice,
thank you sir I'll try it

Do you have the objdata that associates with the park or is something in the objdata corrupted? I normally back up my objdata (all of it, including the stuff that comes with the game), thought it might be the objdata if anything. Hopefully this should help, if not, I don't know. :\
well I have been deleting a bunch of stuff but I still opened it last night. tonight I tried to open it but nope

can't even open my park ,this keeps getting worse. if anyone can help it would be great.

ok I'm pretty sure I use to be able to load pictures into the object editor because I use to have a set of waterfall pics that I animated for a custom object. how do i put these in the object editor? Secondly how do these custom items get put back into my saved game? I think once I get these 2 things back in my memory I'll be able to finish my old park. Thanks in advance for any help-Stef
