Cooloo Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 My roommate hosted a game. But it is not showing up on the server list. Am I just dumb? We can join other games but not each others. What am I doing wrong.
Broxzier Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 He either needs to promote the server so that it is visible in the list, or you need to enter his local IP address manually to connect.

If you enable it, the "master server" will check if the information you provided is valid (i.e. the server is accessible) and only then make it listed. If there is an error to this part, you should see WARNING[/work/OpenRCT2/src/network/network.cpp:901 (operator())]: Unable to advertise: Unable to reach game server, make sure your ports are open. in logs. Although as you mention it's your roommate who's hosting, you probably share the same network in which case you will get much better performance by simply using his internal IP. We will probably have a way of broadcasting the server to local network as well, so it should show up in your list as well. See https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/2339. BluRRayS Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Yea, or you just can port forward, so you can join each other for sure. And you can make it in to a real server. it's really easy did it in about 2 min. Just open CMD, type in: ipconfig , and look for to default getaway addres (the one at the top of the page). type your default getaway adress in your browser, and search it. Then you will come on your routers page. The username AND password is MOST OF THE TIME admin. there is probably a button that says portforwarding (or something like that). The port you want to forward is the default openrct2 port 11573. And don't forget choose both UDP TCP, And the targeted ip adress is your ipv4 (you can see it in the CMD) Save it and you're done. GOODLUCK.
