AweStriker Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Hello all, I've been having some issues that just started tonight - when I try to run OpenRCT2.exe, Windows 10 gives me an error that says "Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.", then deletes it. Trying to use the launcher (I use the launcher by default) skips that and just gives the familiar "Unable to Launch Game" error (and also deletes OpenRCT2.exe). I'm seeing that some other people have recently run into this as well, but I'm not sure what to do.
GingerAdonis Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I've ran several builds through Virustotal.com which shows that it is probably just a false-positive which happens from time to time. https://www.virustotal.com/#/url/cc112e952db0d1fc0a87d04b2517355928fba428512138923f0b4f7c6c4983d6/detection The creator of the launcher might be able to help you with this. jensj12 Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 More specifically, your antivirus generates that error. Whitelist/restore OpenRCT2.exe using your antivirus and you should be able to play. How to do this depends on your AV.
