Fully implemented?

On the most recent version of openrct2, it says that

This is the first fully implemented version of OpenRCT2. RCT2.EXE is no longer required.

But my friend on a mac says that RCT2.EXE is still required? Is this feature not for Mac yet?

OpenRCT2 is fully implemented; this goes for every platform (they are all built from the same source). You never needed rct2.exe to play, even before that (IIRC the vanilla code that was previously required was simply linked into the OpenRCT2 executable).

However, you still need the assets from the vanilla game, as OpenRCT2 does not include them.
